Ranma grabbed Wanda's wrist and growled out, “Calm down, all of us knew exactly what was going to happen.” The martial artist turned to the two telepaths sitting at the table, “Did you see what you needed to see?”
Jean gave a puzzled look to the visitor and the professor. Ranma simply rolled his eyes, “She really needs some polish you know.”
The Professor nodded, “Yes be calm and Jean we do need to work on your reaction times. Ranma and Rogue are perfectly fine. You didn't have to give her that much you do realize.”
“Heh, sorry bout that. I'll make sure she works it off quickly.” Ranma scratched the back of his pigtail and shifted nervously.
Logan's ever present scowl deepened, “What about the wall?”
Ranma returned the heated remark, “Ain't nothin I aven't fixed before. Like I said, I ain't a freeloader.”
Wolverine grumbled then stomped out of the room. Ranma's hand came up to his face and he quickly decided that it was best not to shoot the angry mutant a raspberry. His hand continued in a swift motion to scratch the back of his head.
The professor looked over his charges and Wanda and wrinkled his eyebrow, “Rogue could you please take Wanda to her colleagues. Then have Dr. McCoy give you a quick examination. Ranma is from a different dimension I do not know how his energies will affect you.”
Rogue scowled for a moment. Wanda shot Ranma a glance which he quickly returned with a nod, “Once the doc is done with you, order up some pies. No pineapples or mushrooms.”
The last bit drew several curious looks. To which Ranma quietly replied, “What, I got some bad experiences with those toppings.” The blue martial artist mumbled something about demented principles and stupid rivals.
“Scott, Jean, make sure our guests are respected as such. Ororo and I need to have a few more words with Ranma here.”
Ranma glanced at Wanda, “If the boys get out of line put them back in line.”
With a nod the younger parties exited leaving a Ranma and Xavier to talk.
Xavier cut straight to the heart of the conversation, “So what did Irene and Agatha say to you?”
Ranma sighed and relaxed in the chair he was seated in. He picked fidgeted for a second, “Agatha is the easiest to explain, she spent twenty minuets cursing about chaos magic and told me to go visit Dr. Strange. Whatever that means. Irene was a bit more difficult. She said that Mystique's destiny could no longer be discerned. However, there would be opportunities to give her a new destiny if I was willing. She also said that my destiny was actively changing those around me, again something about being chaotic or a fulcrum for change.”
The telepath carefully considered the young man's words as he watched his body language with increasing scrutiny. The apparent youth had considerable psychic defenses reading any deeper than surface emotions proved to be very taxing at best. The defenses were not that of a trained operative they were far more organic and chaotic. Bits and pieces would float up to the surface at random intervals.
Ororo quickly spoke up, “If you're being honest with us those are very vague revelations.”
He simply shrugged, “Magic 'an me never get along.”
The professor adjusted his composure again, “You do realize you are putting me in a difficult position. After reading Rogue's mind I know that something has changed within the one we knew as Mystique. I also know if Ranma Saotome were to be approached by myself and Magneto I know that you are more closely aligned with my ethos.”
Ranma smirked, “But I got a hundred and some years of Mystique in my head.”
Xavier gave a grim expression, “Indeed, and your associates are not the most popular of people.”
The martial artist shifted yet again in the chair, “Eh, not terribly worried bout my self. I could survive out of a backpack if I wanted to but those kids need some training. They ain't the bad sort.” Then narrowed his eyes, “Cides, bad guys make the best teachers.”
The telepathic mutant paused as he shuffled through the memories of Ranma's draconian teachers. Genma's down right insane methods, Cologne's underhanded and treacherous dealings and finally the often incomprehensible Happosai. Xavier frowned and started to offer a rebuttal. Then remembered his team's defeat at the hands of Wanda. Before his musings could go any further buzz came over the intercom.
Kitty's voice cut over the intercom, “Um professor, Boom err Tabitha is here to speak to you.”
Ororo rolled her eyes as she thought to her self, “When it rains it pours.”
Xavier shot a glance at the blue shape shifter, “Is the young lady with you?”
Ranma cursed as he filtered through Mystique's memories that surfaced with the new name, “Ah, no. Mystique kicked her out of the boarding house when she came back. Is she alright?”
A small smile crossed Xavier's lips, “She is a bit disoriented. Her mind isn't the same as the last time I scanned her. Perhaps if you assume a less conspicuous form we can get some answers.”
The blue skinned red haired martial artist bit his tongue as he realized that the professor had a valid point. “Thanks, she's another kid like me. Bit hard headed but isn't malicious.” Ranma easily shifted into his Ranko form thinking the petite asian form was by far the least threatening form he knew. She wore her typical black silk pants. Her top formed into a simple red cotton tee.
Ororo frowned at the choice of forms, “I thought you were a guy?”
Ranma laughed, “Very tragic story, I got cursed by the spring of the drowned girl in China.”
Xavier smirked, “His father turned into a panda according to his memories.”
She laughed an unusual amount of sarcasm dripped off her voice, “Now I know he's telling the truth, nobody would believe that ruse.”
A tall blonde teen entered the room in a rather subdued manner. Her gaze pointed at the floor and shoulders slightly rolled. Everyone in the room took note of the change in posture. Bandages on her forehead and left arm indicated that she had been in some trouble recently. Tabitha glanced around the room. She noted first Storm then the professor and finally a red head. Tabitha's posture and expression quickly changed.
“Sao...tome... is that you?” The girl squeeked out in a quiet but hopeful manner.
Ranma paused taken completely off balance he did not expect this. His hand slid up to the back of his neck again and spoke, “Uh, yea. Do you know me?”
The girl quickly responded its me:
