Present Past: Full Metal Triangle [Episode 221463]

The Mozhaiski continued to move, slightly off the flight path they'd later adjust to. That was because they had a load of H3 to be used in Russian fusion reactors. In order to jettison the H3 and increase their speed, they had to be outside a normal flight lane. Otherwise it would be a major problem and unprofessional as well.

At least that was the reason they were giving.

Captain Sergei, who preferred going by his first name, used the time to let the Intuitive aboard the ship adjust to having had one of her Visions.

"How bad?" he asked, when it looked like the immediate effects were over.

"If we go there, we're dead," said Ludmilla, looking especially haunted.

"Dead as in - dead?" asked the captain. "Not a metaphor for something a little less final?"

"Dead as in dead," said Ludmilla, who interrupted herself by sipping on some of her precious store of vodka. "It's bad. Very bad."

"I see," said the captain. "Well, get to the engines. We need to get them fixed soon on orders from the Mother Country."

"When did they get damaged?" asked Ludmilla.

"Just as soon as I get to it," said the captain.

There WERE things that sometimes seemed to exceed the speed of light.

Especially when espers gossiped.

Sosuke Sagara, Sergeant, decided to ignore all that as he piloted his Arm-slave to a position along the route. Not that the humanoid robots were particularly well suited to space combat. Vehicles built along more efficient lines were faster and could mount more weapons. The Arm-slave though, that was a 'Jack Of All Trades, Master Of None' sort of vehicle. Humanoid, with several weapons systems that could be changed out as well as a couple that were not so quick to interchange. Not the fastest, nor the lowest profile, nor the most beweaponed vehicle.

The Arm-slave had come out of construction, one moved one's hands and arms and the vehicle's hands and arms responded due to the sensors relaying instructions to the slaved parts. When one needed to manipulate things on a macro-scale, you used an Arm-slave. When you wanted to restrain a vehicle without damaging it, you also used an Arm-slave.

He was equally at home in Arm-slave or Starfury type fighter. In this instance he'd drawn an Arm-slave.

Why, he had no idea. A Starfury would have been more efficient for tasks away from the station, in his professional opinion.

Which put him here, in an Arm-slave, saluting the Lunarian shuttle as it passed by. A crystalline teardrop of sleek lines that glistened as it passed his position. He did have to wonder at the feeling that he was being scrutinized by beings on the other side of that hull.

There was an odd prickle he'd come to associate with his combat sense or feelings of intuition with weaponry, and then odd whispers he could almost make out.

So, that's the boy?

Yes, that's him. A captain of that colony, and a cadet among the civilian forces. Quite interesting.

We'll have to monitor, with two half-trained telepaths pursuing the same guy - there are dangers that they might not fully understand.

Aboard the shuttle, the delegates of the Lunarians (though they regarded themselves as being from elsewhere - this moon was simply where they'd crashed) were:
