Northstar Fragment: Up, Up, and Away [Episode 221490]

by Kestral

Uncle Genma made a handsign and vanished after the balloon was a speck still lit by the sun as the village itself passed into shadow. How amusing that the balloon would be wafted along by a storm front and eventually set down somewhere far far away. In the Land Of Hot Springs near the Sacred Mountain of Jusenkyo to be exact.

Now to take care of the paperwork.

The Third Hokage stared at the paperwork, looked over at Sasuke Uchiha's Uncle Genma, then back. "Training journey?"

"Yes," said Uncle Genma. "Shocking. Truly shocking. He did SO poorly in that last test that he has to go re-dedicate himself to the ninja arts. To that extent he has gone to avail himself of some truly remarkable training grounds located in the Land Of Terror."

"Where is he really going?" asked the Third Hokage.

"Land of Hot Springs, sacred mountain, the taijutsu specialists of the hidden town," admitted Genma.

"Thought so," said the Third Hokage. "Just want the Sasuke Fanclub to go off chasing wild geese, eh?"

"Pretty much," admitted Genma.

"Says here that he's training at the Dojo Of Absolute Destruction and staying at the Inn Of Darkest Delights," said the Third Hokage, indicating the Ninja Leave Request Form.

"Yes, it's a very nice place, I recommend it," agreed Genma.

"You DO realize that the Land Of Terror has a 'you break it, you bought it, you can't pay for it, you'll be sold to pay for it' policy within its borders," said the Third Hokage. "Even if they have a tendency to over-dramatize things with their naming system, it's still not a terribly pleasant place."

"Not a problem," said Genma. "I've already arranged with the management. Three weeks of the Maid Training Course From Hell, extended further with every broken plate or other mistake."

"I can't really approve of this you know," said the Third Hokage. "There will be objections..."

"Danzo thinks it was HIS idea," said Uncle Genma, rocking back and forth on his heels and looking unbearably smug.

"He does?" asked the Third Hokage, beginning to smile despite himself.

"Came up with the idea while I was treating him to dinner," said Genma. "A business deal he rejected. Unfortunately it was further spoiled by a pair of Sasuke Fangirls getting into a fight right there in the restaurant."

"I see," said the Third Hokage. "Well, it's late and I'm tired and if I accidently signed off on any forms - it must have been my old eyes giving out."

"No doubt," said Uncle Genma. "Not all will be fooled. Not all will go. That SOME will go merely means the village gets less damaged for a week or so."

"Not that I understand such reasoning or agree with it," said the Hokage as he signed the form.

Naruto's fingers found pressure points, massaged muscle groups, and otherwise touched soft flesh in a matter not at all naughty.

"oooooOOOOooooo."

Not that you could tell from the way Hinata Hyuga almost melted into her blanket.

"So, you've learned something of medicine," noted Kurenai as her ward seemed almost ready to have her spirit ghost out of her body from sheer bliss.

"A little bit," said Naruto as he finished with Hinata's feet. "Now for the shoulders and back."

"No," mock-protested Hinata at the thought of this getting better. "No, please."

"Please? Okay," said Naruto, continuing his work. "Gotta make sure your chakra network is clear and ready to go, tomorrow we start training in earnest."

"Ahhhhh," whispered Hinata.

"Try not to kill her," advised Kurenai.

"Trainings tough but not THAT tough," said Naruto, missing the point.
