Bryan: Below is my take on the world of James Bond from a Ranmaesque perspective. I hope you enjoy the narrative, injokes and 'analogue' characters therein (and hope this rationale spreads to future episodes in 'Agent Nanatsu' as well).... :o)
Alas, per the previous option, Ranma doesn't have / never had / was cured of his 'canon' Jusenkyo curse so being splashed by cold water will not affect him unless the following installments take him there to 'pick up' his curse--a contrived possibility(likely unecessary).... ;). With his (toned down to 'realistic' levels) martial arts training, he doesn't need a gun but knows how to use one and packs one 'just in case'....
---------------------------------------------
It's good to be a spy...thought Ranma Saotome confidently as he polished the obsidian metal surface of his trusty Chibi-Jackal pistol to a mirrorlike consistency. Ranma thought back to some of the times the little black firearm came in handy....
He was one of the top nine agents working in the super-secret Himitsu Division of the Japanese government. Himitsu Division was founded some number of years ago by someone known only as X. The current director of HD was a young bespectacled woman with long blonde hair known only as Mei. HD took on assignments delegated to it that were just too sensitive to be handled out in the open through the conventional channels....
"Mei has more work for you, Ranma." called a young woman's voice from unseen speakers in Ranma's office.
"On my way, Vicky." Ranma replied to Mei's personal secretary via unseen microphones in his office. He reholstered his weapon and stood up--putting on the jacket to his impeccably tailored Saville Row 3-piece suit. On the way out of his office, Ranma paused in front of the full length mirror to adjust his necktie then set off to meet Mei....

"Good afternoon, Ranma." greeted Vicky, a cute young woman with striking eyes and short orange-blonde hair. Looking up from the paperwork on her desk, she smiled at Ranma, who stood in front of her desk.
"Same to you." returned the young, dark-hared secret agent.
Vicky tabbed a button on her desk. "Here, let me start the 'mantrap' cycle."
An audible hum sounded as a section of the wall opposite Vicky's desk slid aside--revealing a gray enclosure the size of a telephone booth. Ranma walked over to it and entered it--turning around to face Vicki. "Tell your Woonut gunsmith boyfriend thanks again for the little 'gift'." Ranma smiled at Vicky and patted the small bulge under one one arm for emphasis.
Vicky blushed at Ranma's barb as the wall section slid over him....

"Ranma...you know it's not nice to call people names...." chided Mei gravely, staring at Ranma.
"It's also not nice to dump one of your top agents into the incinerator...." retorted Ranma in similar fashion while glaring at the young HD director before him--his hands and feet braced against the sides of the 'mantrap'. Below Ranma, the floor was parted in halves--revealing a large black hole that led down a chute to said incinerator....
"The incinerator is fired up every other day. You had a 50% chance of not being reduced to ashes." added the young director sternly.
"Yes, but I'd rather not risk letting this expensive suit meet such a terrible fate--we can't waste the precious taxpayer money, now can we?" added Ranma as he awkwardly stepped out of the 'mantrap' and walked over to Mei's desk.
Mei beamed at Ranma in a knowing manner all too familiar to the young agent. Though Saotome was a loyal, dependable member of HD, sometimes he went maverick and was a constant, intermittent irritant to certain members of HD (including herself). The fact remained that he was one of the best secret agents in Japan...in the world. Secretly...deep down inside...Mei enjoyed these occasional verbal battles to the fullest....
Ranma cleared his throat, jolting Mei out of her enigmatic reverie....
"Sorry about that, Agent Nanatsu," apologized Mei. Before continuing with her briefing, she handed Ranma a thin dossier from her desktop marked TOP SECRET and FOR YOUR EYES ONLY titled--
