Correct, answered the interface. further changes are that the females can now be stored in their ‘storage mode’ when not needed.
Ranma’s eyes widened. “Storage Mode?” He squeaked out.
Correct, the interface of the Great Will replied. Thanks to retroactive changes, now that 97.36% of women are sub-genus human species known as ‘pokégirls’, they may be kept in the confines of a personal storage device known as ‘PokéBalls’. Pokégirls in a PokéBalls can be transported back and forth from a larger storage program and when in their PokéBalls, can undergo healing cycles. Once a PokéBall is linked to a pokégirl, it can only connect with that pokégirl. Until the data is wiped from it, it cannot be used on another pokégirl and its recovery beam will only affect the pokégirl it’s keyed to.
Eyes widening, Ranma had to comment, “That sounds way too much like a bad Nintendo game,” one he remembered seeing Nabiki play. ‘Monsters in the Pocket’ or something along those lines...
Such is indeed where the inspiration for changes to the planet via the Great Will interface came from. Daisuke suggested it and Hiroshi seconded the motion.
Shoulders slumping, the pigtailed martial artist slowly turned his head to look at Kasumi. His mouth flapped wordlessly as he just stared at the changed Tendo woman. While it had been much of a shock to have the eldest Tendo suddenly sporting the curves of a swimsuit model...
However, what made him nervously take a step back was that Kasumi was also covered in a full later of bright reddish orange fur that was laced with black stripe patterns; all of which was complimented by a long, prehensile tail and most certainly feline ears and bright, slitted green eyes. It took all his will to keep from running on the spot and screaming his head off when she noticed him looking and politely waved at him before she went back to lounging in the chair, enjoying the feel of the sun on her fur.
Turning away from the woman quickly to try and ease the growing tension, Ranma had to ask, “WHAT HAPPENED!?”
The interface of text before his vision continued, Does not compute.
Sighing, the heir of the Saotome School of Martial Arts asked in a quieter voice, “Okay, from the top. These, ‘retroactive changes’. What happened and why is Kasumi now a busty t-t-tuh-ti-tiii...” he gulped. “Tiger woman?”
Actually, the proper term for Kasumi now is ‘Tigress’.
The teenaged male visibly shuddered. “Okay, why is she a Tigress then?” He winced. “Please tell me it’s not going to take all that long to explain.”
Do not worry; changes only start no more than a few decades previous. The first change started in 1974 AD, when a college student majoring in physics named James Sukotto develops ‘Gating’, a way to travel between parallel universes. Full of idealism and altruism, young James sought to benefit humanity with this new technology. To accomplish this, he used to invention to travel into different dimensions that had developed differently, and brought back an odd gleanings here or there, upon which he then ‘reverse engineered’ them. He debuted his technology in 1978. Various examples include durable paints, a fluid-less transmission system, a rubber composite concrete, a new computer storage format known as the HD-D DVD Rom, the re-introduction of Damascus steel, and a unique rechargeable battery with a potent mix that could last four straight years of constant discharge before needing to be recharged; the recharge of which takes only eighteen minutes.
Ranma blinked his eyes once, twice. “That... doesn’t sound so bad.” And it didn’t. While he wasn’t sure about the computer or electronics aspects, he could see how some of the stuff could be used to benefit the quality of living.
Still, that didn’t explain the new Kasumi!!
Fortunately for Ranma, the Great Will continued. Jim would then go on build himself a mountainside mansion and laboratory complex, where he could continue his work as the benefactor of mankind. He even bought genetic engineering devices from a distant universe and built seven lovely young ladies, each an exotic vision, to serve in a number of purposes. These were the first of his pokégirls; female creatures with special powers, and a natural psychology to imprint on their owner. All pokégirls have some sort of special ability, if not looks, that separate them from normal human females. They were to be his servants, confidants and occasional lovers.
He lived a good life with them for just over a year until 1980, when a woman named Linda McKenzie broken into his estate with all the skills of a professional thief; quite convinced of the righteousness of her cause. She sought to tear down of anyone who had accomplished more than she could. A very militant feminist, she sought out to discredit him to further her own career. However, she understood the possibilities of what she had found and made plans to kill him and bring other like-minded ladies of the Women’s Rights Activists with her to raid his home of the strange technologies she’d discovered, plans in her mind to make a female-ruled utopia with her as its ruler.
While they did manage to hit hard and fast, stealing a few of his precious secrets and equipment, it didn’t go completely to the woman’s plan. Jim’s girls were able to fight off their attackers, driving Miss McKenzie and her cronies away. However, the numerous explosions from both equipment and the attacks of a couple of his girls was more than enough to draw the attention of the local law enforcement from the nearby town.
Slowly Ranma started to comprehend. “So now Kasumi is one of this guy’s creations?”
She is not one of his original seven but she is indeed one of his production run.
That caught the pigtailed martial artist off guard. “Production run?” He questioned.
Correct. To keep his girls from being taken from him by authorities, Jim used the attack on his home as a form of advertisement. Showing off the loyalty, helpfulness and overall battle prowess of his ladies, Mr. Sukotto was able to turn heads by trying to present them not only as his loved ones but to pass them off as his next big project rather than the crop-rejuvenation/rotation theorem he had been working on. Pokégirls: the only lady you really need.
Thanks to the number of lonely men in the world, this caught on like wildfire and once again numerous corporations and businesses were looking into hiring Jim on to produce the pokégirls for them.
Jim however, declined but that did not mean he gave up the idea on mass producing them. His own lie intrigued him and he indeed sought to market his pokégirls to lonely people like himself; girls that while possessing free will, would not be unforgiving, self-centered, and actually be open to the desires and needs of their owner. With the help of a number of investors, he was able to open Sukebe Incorporated in 1982, premiering his initial run of pokégirls to serve the needs of the many. The Kitten and Eva breeds as pets/friends, the specialized NurseJoy and OfficerJenny breeds he peddled to the various government structures in America, and even his first experiment in Elemental capabilities, Growlie; a special Fire-type pokégirl. He also released various items to aid in the upkeep of them; Potions and PokéBalls being the most prominent.
Over the next two years, more breeds would be introduced and the elemental rosters would be explored and expanded, consisting of a total of eighteen elements: Bug, Dark, Dragon, Electric, Fighting, Fire, Flying, Ghost, Ground, Ice, Magic, Normal, Plant, Poison, Psychic, Rock, Steel and Water. However, the biggest surprised from Sukebe’s women made from scratch would come in two aspects; the first being that a couple of designs seemed to tap into the forces of heaven and hell, making then considered Infernal and Celestial; it was quite a hectic time when the Vatican had to get involved. But the second and greater aspect that owners found was that Jim programmed and modified his girls’ genetic structure to have a tremendous amount of potential. With the right stimulus, they could evolve.
Ranma froze on the spot. “EVOLVE!?”
Blinking her eyes a couple of times, Kasumi rose her head from the lawn-chair she was using, having started to doze off. “Is something wrong, Ranma?” She called out in concern for her house-guest.
Pausing for a moment, a shiver went up the man’s body, causing him to visibly shiver. Shaking his head back and forth, Ranma was doing his best NOT to look back at the now fear-inducing eldest Tendo sibling. “N-no, Kasumi! I’m f-fine!” He squeaked out.
Although she didn’t look convinced, Kasumi accepted it with a slow nod of her head, (not that he could see). The Tigress figured when he was more comfortable to tell her, he would. “All right, Ranma. But remember, if you need anything, I’m right here.” She reached off to the small lawn table she’d set up, reaching for her catnip margarita. Bringing the drink to her lips, she curled her toes as she felt a shiver of delight go throughout her body. Oh yes, THAT was the stuff...
Relaxing as he felt the eldest of the Tendo girl’s attention was off of him Ranma once again asked, “Evolve?”
Evolution is an interesting process that most pokégirls can attain; the capability to evolve, a process of metamorphosis where they change into a more advanced form of pokégirl. Each evolution has its own requirements to happen; such as a high enough level, stress, evolution stones, orgasms, or something along those lines. During this process, a pokégirl’s genetic structure is somewhat chaotic and the pokégirl will glow. After transforming, the light will fade and the genetic structure will be stabilized. The evolution itself normally elapses in the course of a few minutes. An example of this would be Kasumi Tendo herself; being a third tier Domestic pokégirl. Born a Kitten, she evolved into Catgirl and then the Tigress you have behind you; a powerful Fighting-type.
Although he wasn’t too big on Kasumi being a cat-like pokégirl now, the pigtailed martial artist couldn’t help but perk up at that part. “A Fighting-type, huh?” The possibilities of the eldest Tendo having martial arts skills seemed rather interesting to him. “That sounds... interesting...” he managed to mumble to himself honestly. “But that still doesn’t explain why Kasumi is a pokégirl herself and they’re not just... you know, added to the background or something.”
That problem stems from Linda and her colleagues. In the time that Jim was pushing pokégirls and making them a household name, she and her friends were using their stolen research and equipment worked to see to it that Mr. Sukotto would not get to enjoy his fame and fortune that he had amassed by creating these ‘fake’ women. Then in 1986, the group of radical feminists led by Miss McKenzie released their finished plague in an act of bio-terrorism with the intent of destroying Jim Sukotto’s creations. Unfortunately for her and the world, she and her people weren’t truly understanding what they were dealing with. So while their intention was to destroy every one of the superior females made by Jim, the fact was that the Virus was designed to attacked by tracing onto a combination of the Double-X Chromosomes as its vehicle.
"...Meaning?"
Meaning while the initial effect of what they called the ‘Monster Flu’ was that most pokégirls had bad flu-like symptoms for two days, with one breed, (The Sphinx) almost completely wiped out, by 1987, the entire human female population of the planet was decreased by a solid 78.4% effectively ending the terror of Linda’s group and the way things were normally handled the world over.
His eyes widening, Ranma’s pupils dilated to the size of pin-pricks. Even he could understand the severity of that. “Oh damn...”
As a result, numerous women had to have pokégirl DNA added to their bio-rhythm and DNA coding while most women who were still alive but dying had to be changed into pokégirls for their protection, as pokégirl genetics had a natural resistance to what was now being called the ‘Red Plague’. While there are still a number of human women left, just under 9% of these human women are considered ‘pure’. The rest were either born after the plague or are the ones who only needed the DNA introduced into their genetic structure. This addition has had an odd quirk to them.
“An odd quirk?” Ranma questioned.
These women’s ovaries were changed. They’re just as likely to give birth to a pokékit as they are a human boy or girl. It should be noted that Kimiko Tendo had to go in for such a procedure, hence why the Tendo behind you was born a Kitten pokékit rather than a human baby.
Slowly nodding his head, the pigtailed martial artist accepted that answer. “So... did society crumble or...?” he trailed off.
Does not compute.
Sighing, the raven-haired teenager wrought his brain for the question to ask. “So was there, like, collapse of society and we rebuilt or did this neighborhood just survive what happened?” The reasoning for asking was that while Kasumi had changed, his environment didn’t seem to.
Almost but no. The United Nations issued an emergency act to in an effort to preservation of the human race. Sukebe Incorporated was issued emergency funding from the various governments to pump out numerous pokégirls around the clock to make up for the horrid decimation of the population.
Raising an eyebrow, Ranma asked, “But why create pokégirls? How could they help preserve humanity?”
Because Jim could change them so that they could bare children as well. The further production of pokégirls were designed so that those who reached their mid-thirties would undergoe a second puberty, and becomes a pokéwoman. Pokéwomen are able to bear children via sexual reproduction, with such children being either human males, human females, or pokékits. Such births are generally one child per pregnancy, with normal chances for more than one child.
Because of such actions, the human race is stabilized but there are a number of pokégirls of various breeds and elements. The world has continued on, with Sukebe Incorporated’s employees being hailed as the heroes of the hour and pokégirls have become pivotal to society, with numerous companies and laws springing up to deal with them as part of society.
Lowering his head, Ranma let off a long sigh. “All right, one more question?”
Sure.
Taking a deep breath, Ranma then asked,
