Dinner was a rather reserved affair… well, compared to the usual anyway.
With Kenichi gone, there was no one around to mess with at the table. At the same time, no one else was up to date on current events to start a conversation, music and television were completely uninteresting to everyone present, and there was no way Miu was going to let them know about her newfound wealth until she’d spent about 90% of it.
When dinner was over, Ranma headed for the shower, Sakaki for the dojo, Shigure and Akisame went to the patio, Apachai moved outside into the back yard for practice, Kensei got to work on his little project, and Hayato went into his room while Miu stuck around to clean up.
When she was done, Miu put the plan she had been formulating since that whole debacle over at Nerima into action.
She headed to the dojo and peeked in to find Sakaki was still doing his warm-up exercises. Careful not to disturb him right off, Miu crept in and took out a few thousand yen bills. “Sakaki, I was going over the books and found a little mistake in this month’s beer budget.”
The man immediately stopped his push-ups and looked over to the Miu. “You what?”
With an embarrassed laugh, Miu held up the money and waved it at him. “Yeah, it looks like I gave you 8000 yen less than you were supposed to get. Sorry. Next time I go shopping I’ll pick up the saké that we were short this ti-” Before she could finish, Sakaki had already gotten to his feet and snatched the bait out of her hand.
Although he was pretty sure Akisame had brought home the usual amount… no, if Miu said they were short then… oh hell, you could never have enough alcohol! “Uh, no need to wait so long. I’ll take care of it myself… right now in fact.” People still sold beer after 8:00, right?
The hell with it, he could find a bar.
One down, five to go.
She found Apachai practicing on one of the striking poles in the backyard. Due to the lack of splintered wood everywhere, Miu supposed that he was trying to restrain himself again. The fact that twelve of them were broken already said it wasn’t going so well.
“Apachai,” Miu said to get his attention right before a punch to the head of the roped wooden beam broke it at the middle. She held up a good-sized back and smiled. “Kenichi left his old school clothes and a lot of other stuff here when he ran away. Could you go give them to his parents?”
“Yes Miu, Apachai will head out right away. Would be bad for Kenichi to go to school naked!”
“But he’s already gradu-oh forget it,“ she said as the man grabbed the sack and bounded over the wall before she had even gotten three words out. Two down.
With those two taken care of, Miu headed over to the Chinese apothecary and knocked on the door. “Kensei, are you there?” When no reply came, she sighed and learned up against the door and let out a convincingly fake moan. “Oh great, he’s already gone to that beach party.”
“Beach party?” the man asked as he poked his head out of his shop. “What beach party? I haven‘t heard of such a thing around here!”
Miu looked over to him and blinked. “Oh uh… well, crap. Well there’s some late night party being hosted down at the Yokohama beach for new swimsuit models or something. The guys running are… Busty Asian Beauties… or something like that. I’m not sure if-” she blinked as the man’s afterimage faded away and looked at the trail of dust leading towards the gate.
As soon as Kensei was gone, Miu clasped her hands together and bowed her head in a short prayer. “Please forgive me spirits of my female ancestors for unleashing such a horror. I but I really, really got to get some tonight!”
With her next target fixed in her mind, Miu took a few moments to try and think up a reason to get her grandfather away for the night as she went into the house. However, when she noticed he was already at the door, Miu stopped and blinked. Although she didn‘t want to question a gift horse in the mouth… “Grandpa, where’re you going at this hour?”
The man flinched and slowly turned around; caught red-handed. “Oh, uh, Miu. I was just… taking a midnight stroll. Yeah! Just going out for a bit of fresh air.”
Yeah right, she thought to herself. But, it would get him out of the house. “Oh well then… have fun!”
Hayato blinked as his granddaughter turned away. “That’s it?”
Slowly, Miu turned around and forced a sweet voice out of her fake smile. “Well… I trust you Grandpa.” But under these circumstances its only about as far as I can throw you… one handed… after I haven’t eaten for three days. “Bye!”
As the man turned around and opened the door, Miu let out a sigh. Four dow-
“Oh Miu I’m such a horrible Grandfather,” Hayato cried before he spun around to drop to his knees and hug the girl.
“Eh?”
“I’m not going on a walk,” the old martial artist said before he reached into his robes and pulled out a poster showing a roller coaster. “Tonight is the opening of the Fuji Drop at the amusement park! I’ve even been sneaking money out of the house fund for the past two months to pay for an admission ticket!”
On pure reflex, Miu’s expression changed to a deadly, glare. “You what?”
A moment later, Hayato reached into his outfit again and pulled out a wad of bills. “Here. This is all the money. I even snatched a few extra for snacks.”
With great effort, Miu put a smile back on her face, although the frown was still there right above it. “That’s… I’m glad you decided to be honest with me Granddad. If it means so much to you…” She gulped down her real comments on the subject, and forced out what was needed. “We can… afford a little bit of entertainment for you.”
“No! I deserved to be punished I-”
“NO YOU DON‘T,” Miu shouted before kicking the old man out of the house, quite literally.
As soon as Hayato disappeared from view, Miu let out a sigh. Two more to go. But those two would be the most difficult to get rid of, she realized.
Akisame and Shigure were still where she left them, playing a game of go right outside the dojo. Although Shigure looked over as Miu came into view, neither of the players took their eyes off the game. Since neither would be so easy to trick, bribe, or just up and leave on their own, Miu took the direct approach.
“Here’s 10000 yen. I need some alone time with my husband. Get the hell out of the house!”
The two masters looked at each other, and the up to the young woman pointing over to the gate. Finally, Akisame took the money and pocketed it, then looked to Shigure. “You know, I hear the new Naruto move is costarring Team Guy.”
“Oooo, Tenten,” the kunochi said before they walked off.
With all the obstacles taken care of, Miu put part two of her ‘Make Ranma Relax and Forget His Troubles With Wild and Crazy Sex’ plan into action.
