It had taken quite some time for Lina to finally accept that she had practically been an art exhibit for a thousand years.
No thanks in part to her fainting again the first dozen or so times it was explained to her.
Several weeks had passed since she broke free of her prison, and she was currently in the library with her host. After a great many days in shock, she finally asked what had become of her friends, and Salton had agreed to help her look through the tomes on ancient history to try and find an answer for her.
"Please, please let there be something..." Lina whispered over and over again as she flipped the ancient pages as quickly as she dared.
Several hours in, Salton called to her from across the room. "Lina! Over here, I think I found something!"
Lina raced to him as he climbed down the shelf ladder and handed her the open book. "See? Right here. You said one of your friends was named Amelia? "She traveled the world, even beyond the barrier, helping people and studying medicine and white magic. She eventually hunted down and defeated all but one of the shards of Ruby-Eye, all the while seeking white magic spells and artifacts. She all but single handedly stopped a war..... with a motivational speech on good and justice?!?" she reads, looking at the book with disbelief, her normal enthusiasm slowly returning to her voice as she goes on.
After a few seconds she grins. "Well... some things never change. At least now I know for sure the book is talking about her." she smirks.
Flipping a few pages ahead, she could see that Amelia had led a very busy life, as an entire chapter was devoted to her. Flipping back to where she left off, she was about to read on, when Salton interrupted by clearing his throat.
"Sorry to interrupt Miss Lina, but I think I found another of your friends. I'll leave the book here for you."
With a nod of thanks, Lina watches him as he returned to the search, then turned to the two books.
She really wanted to read more on Amelia, but she could always come back to it. After a moment's thought, she decided to...
