Replay-HP and Co.-Starlight, Starbright: Here Be Visitors [Episode 223735]

by Linnara

Owls, owls, did he hear...owls?

Ha, ha, ha.

"You look like you're in a good mood, Tommy! What's up?"

Tom Marvelo Riddle looked up, lying on his back in the meadow, and grinned - most atypically - at the girl who'd been calling herself 'Helen Applefield' for several years now.

"Well, yes. The birds are rather noisy today, don't you think?"

"...Oh." Helen sighed, then. So.

Tommy was going away.

Well, it wasn't like she didn't know that he would eventually go away for a long time now, but...

Tom was grinning, looking up at the sky. He was eleven - which meant that the Draco Malfoy (Not Lucius and Narcissa's little brat, of course - the Mini-Malfoy was (would become?) this one's grand-nephew, if he remembered things correctly, though he had no idea if any version of that Draco was ever going to be born in this...what was the name, 'timeline's future, anyway) and Belladonna Black that he'd gone to Hogwarts with 'the last time around' should be eleven, as well.

And Shinyscales...poor lonely Shinyscales should be waiting for him, beneath the Keep. Well, alright, she probably hadn't been really waiting for him, since any Parselmouth would probably had done to begin with, but details, details...

The weather was good, both he and Helen had finished their morning chores, he'd arranged to have the lasts pack of bullies get assigned lavatory cleaning duty for the next three months in the minimum, and there were the hooting of post owls in the air.

Life, if not perfect, was pretty darn close to it at this moment, Tom Riddle thought.

And that was when the redhaired handsome man came walking up the hill.

Uh, oh.

Tom groaned. A wizard, check. A powerful wizard, check - just see how he walked through all those wards. And...

Nope, it was no delusion - it was him. Arrrgh.

"Well, well met, you two! Say, this is the Applefield School for Squibs and Otherwise, isn't it?"

"...Y-Y-Yes, sir...?" Helen quavered.

"Ahh, you must be one of the students here. Lemondrop? I have cookies too!"

The red haired man - twinkled at Helen. Tom inwardly seethed, making 'do not eat' motions behind his back, where Helen could presumably see him but not the man in front of them.

"Ahhh...Um...Thank you, sir...But we're not supposed to eat candy strangers give us..."

Helen mumbled.

"...Ahh, of course, of course - But it's alright if the Headmistress gives permission, correct? Ahh, if you would - My name is Albus Dumbledore, and if I could speak to, ahh, the Headmistress here?"

Cripes - this was too early! Tom groaned yet again. Albus Dumbledore had sure as heck not arrived right on the day that the owl had, the last time around. He hadn't even had time to talk things over with the Headmistress at all...

"Oh, I see - I'll - We'll go tell her we have visitors, Sir!"

Tom grinned at him, though his face hurt. It was a mental thing, he was pretty sure...

And then he took off running, holding on to Helen's sleeve with a near death grip.

"...T-T-Tommy? Who's he?"

"Somebody that you should be very careful of. ...He's a Professor, at Hogwarts."

Helen's mouth widend into an 'O'. She already knew what Hogwarts was, of course.

And that was when the other wizard came up the other path that led to the Applefield School.

Well...several other wizards, Tom supposed. Technically. Since he was pretty sure that the three - people - that practically had 'bodyguard' and 'minion' written on their foreheads that were trudging after the tall grey-haired distinguished gentleman were Magic- users...

Though at least one of them was a Werewolf or a Weredog...

When it rains, it poars. Riight

Tom let go of Helen's sleeve and grabbed her hand tightly.

What...wonderful...timing...

The redhaired man behind Tom on the Helen, on the other hand, apperently didn't share Tom's sentiments. At all.

"Gellert! Herr Grindelwald, fancy seeing you here!"

Tom almost snickered hysterically as Gellert Grindelwald's head came up, eyes wide.

"Albus what are you doing - Ahem. Professor Dumbledore. How strange, to meet you here..."

And now was the time for a tactical retreat and regrouping.

Tom Riddle took Helen by the hand, and fled.
