It was interesting for many to be able to see how a shrine worked. Tourists, especially from elsewhere around the world, liked to come to see the local traditions and situations. Even those from neighboring areas would come to visit such a special shrine. But to one who worked and lived there (or even just stayed there), it could be a big bore. Still one had to do something, even if it was so mudane that it became mind numbingly boring at times.
