Ryozanpaku Ranma: To Deal With the Devil [Episode 223875]

by Proteus

Honoka found herself awakening to her usual alarm clock: the sound of her brother’s screams. She picked her head off of her pillow and looked around. Considering the dojo’s budget constraints, Miu’s room was pretty well furnished. There were a few too many cat decorations for Honoka’s taste, but it was better than what her brother had.

After sitting up, she looked out the window to see what the heck they were doing now. Since the sun had finally come up, it looked like Kenichi had already finished his morning run, and was spending time with that scar face Sakaki. Although, why they were standing on a Twister pad confused the hell out of her.

“After that crap you pulled yesterday, I think you need to learn how to better take notice of the battlefield,” Sakaki told her older brother. “So I had Akisame whip this little thing up.”

Kenichi blinked and looked down at the mat he was standing on. “Master… I hate to tell you this, but Twister has been around for awhile now.”

The explanation only made Sakaki roll his eyes. “I know that! I just had Akisame electrify the little spots on it.”

“WHAT?” Kenichi shouted.

When his student was done with this whining, Sakaki continued his explanation. “Shigure over there will turn the dial on that remote control in her hands and tell you what color is safe to step on. Okay?”

“Um-”

“Good. Now go!”

“Green,” Shigure mumbled right before Sakaki started his attack.

Kenichi flinched as Sakaki threw the first punch. “But I didn’t hear the color!”

After watching her brother dance around for a minute, Honoka turned away from the window and got dressed. Falling into her usual routine, she went down to start breakfast. Like every day, it wasn’t anything fancy. Although Honoka’s cooking skills had gotten better thanks to practice, she was hardly a gourmet chef. But she managed to avoid burning the eggs, and the rice came out okay this time.

When the cooking was done, she went out to where Kenichi was being watched by eveyone. “Okay, breakfast is ready!”

Thanks to lots of practice, Honoka managed to get out of the way just in time to avoid Apachai running her over, and then headed back inside with everyone else. As usual, she found Kenichi having to fight off Apachai and Kensei to keep his food safe.

“Kenichi.”

The teen looked up and had some of his egg swiped out from under him. “Hey Apachai!”

Akisame sighed as the battle resumed. With little choice, he waited till Kenichi had finished eating what he could protect. When breakfast was finished, he got his disciple’s attention again. “Kenichi, we’ll be taking a break from morning training today. We’ve got a job for you to do.”

The way he was messing with his moustache made Kenichi frown. Whenever Akisame did that, nothing good could possibly follow. “What kind of job?” he asked hesitantly.

“We need you to go find that chick from yesterday, and make her pay the bill for challenging the dojo!” Sakaki told him before slamming his fist on the table. “I’d do it myself, but uh… I have plans.”

“You’re just making me do your dirty work!” Kenichi shouted as he pointed an accusing finger at the men.

Akisame nodded to himself. “Very well then,” he relented. The man looked over to the other two masters who hadn’t joined in on the conversation. “Apachai, Shigure, go make those deadbeats pony up.”

Out of the corner of his eye, Kenichi saw Shigure get that scary look in her eye before she reached for her sword. “I’ll…” She drew her blade and swung it around dramatically. “… take it out of their hides.”

“Okay I’ll go!” Kenichi quickly agreed while visions of people skinned alive filled his head.

After half an hour later of wandering around aimlessly with no help, Kenichi found himself resorting to drastic measures. He headed for more familiar surroundings, ad then made his way to the last place we wanted to be. Sure I agreed to do it, but I have no idea where these people are, he told himself as he slumped down in despair. This was his only option.

With no other choice, he entered into the Shinpaku Alliance HQ.

“Shinpaku! Commander Shirahama,” the men at the door shouted right in his ears before throwing up the modified salute that originated from Niijima’s home planet.

Kenichi just groaned and went up to the meeting room where he knew Niijima would be waiting. As usual, the alien was sitting on his throne, going over some papers. He looked up right as Kenichi opened the door and smiled. “Kenichi, what do I owe the pleasure?”

“Niijima… Ineedyourhelp,” he rushed out. As soon as it was done, Kenichi rubbed his throat. Ugh, I feel like I just swallowed raw sewage.

The man on the throne rubbed his chin, then leaned over to Kenichi and cupped one of his ears. “Whaaaaaaaat?”

“YOU HEARD ME!” the martial artist shouted loud enough to knock Niijima out of his chair.

After his picked himself up, Niijima put a finger in one of his ears to pick out a piece of wax and flicked it in Kenichi’s face. “So what is it this time?”

This time? I do more to help him than he does to help me, Kenichi thought to himself with a frown. Still, he managed to swallow his pride and told Niijima what was going on.

When he was done, Niijima rubbed the bottom crossed his arms, and nodded. “I see,” he mumbled. “Well if you need that kind of help then…” Niijima threw out his right hand and took a commanding pose. “SHINPAKU ASSEMBLE!”

“Ukita the Thrower.”

Ukita looked up from the foosball table in the corner. “Huh?”

“Kisara, the uh… cat!”

On the other end of the foosball table, Kisara turned around and glared at Niijima, her hair standing up. “That’s not my nickname you idiot! Hssssss!”

“The Immortal Composer Siegfried!”

The man in the hat and fancy coat jumped up onto the meeting table and spread his arms wide. “Yes my general!”

“As of this moment I am declaring the foundation of the Shinpaku Alliance Debt Collection Agency!” Niijima shouted with a raised fist.

Kenichi let out a sigh. “All I wanted was an address.”

Ignoring his underling’s whining, Niijima made his way down to the floor and brought the other martial artists in behind him. “To the Tendo Dojo!” he exclaimed before looking back to Kenichi. “By the way, our fee is fifteen percent.”

I knew this was a bad idea Kenichi thought as he dragged himself out of the building.
