Misato Katsuragi had seen many things in her life, being the sole survivor of Second Impact at ground zero (not to mention university life with Ritsuko and Kaji). However, she was rather surprised when Ranma Ikari, the third child, screamed when he saw her and ran away from her at speeds that would make Warner Bros' Roadrunner jealous. A few seconds later, she regained her bearings and hopped in her car. She had to find him quickly or Humanity would be toast !
Ranma was running. He had no desire to be put through physical and psychological torture (he had enough of that back in Nerima). He prized his individuality too much for SEELE's grand plan to turn everyone into a happy communal pool of slime to be an option. He needed an alternative to the Evangelions NOW !
Apparently, the wish's residual energy heard him and arranged something :
