10 Rings: add one ancient martial arts sensei and her ?! [Episode 2243]

by Kestral

Saturn woke slowly, feeling way too comfortable next to Ranma to want to bestir herself. Once awake she decided moving was too much trouble when staying here was all kinds of nice.

Moon snoozed on. Not wanting to wake and find herself back with that corrupted minion. She was warm, she was comfortable, she was content.

Genma was being ill in the background.

There were bunnies hopping around the campsite, deer grazing nearby, birds chirping their little hearts out.

It was a Disney moment.

Which, of course, is why Genma was being ill in the background.

Not before Genma got a picture of two girls comfortably resting next to his son (who was still male at least part of the time in this thread) and sent it to Nodoka. Considering her stance on manliness, this ought to please her no end.

Two down, eight to go.

Hopefully though, it wouldn't involve much more "Disney Moments" like this. His poor stomach couldn't take it.

However, considering that the new girl had apparently gone through some problems, Genma was able to rationalize not waking Ranma up at the break of dawn.

Let's see, training techniques. Genma flipped open the book and started studying.

"No, that one's pretty lame."

Genma nodded. Yes, if the Catfist had worked that would have been one thing. This technique wasn't even in that class. Hmmm. The next page had something a little more interesting.

"Oh come on. Look at the small print there. 'The odds of the trainee surviving this training method are such that you have a better chance of holding out your hands and catching a spontaneously generated stream of gold coins.'"

Genma held out his hands. No coins of any metal appeared. Hmmm. Maybe not that one either.

"Why not try some speed drills instead?"

Genma nodded. That was a good idea. He...

Genma paused. Considered. Slowly he turned. "WAAAAGGHHHHHHHH!"

Ranma slowly stirred himself out of his warm and comfortable to realize Pops was overreacting to something again.

There was a little purple haired girl over there making soup. There was his Pop, still a panda, backing away from some tengu or something. Huh. Ranma shrugged and went back to sleep.

Oh, waitaminute. Food?

"So, uhm," Ranma put down his empty bowl as the purple-haired girl scowled and refilled it.

"Oh, where are my manners, I am Cologne and this is my great granddaughter, Shampoo." The ghoul smiled, causing two girls to practically cling to their mortal in terror. Some mortals were scary.

"Ni hao," said the little girl who apparently did not speak any Japanese.

"Ruu Roh Raggy," said Genma.

"You might want to consider switching to panda signs," said Cologne. "Much more understandable."

"Rat right ree somfing roo rook inrroo," admitted Genma. "Rye ur you raking ru rinrest rin rus?"

Shampoo grumbled and said something in Chinese about how if the boy and the blonde were going to eat this much, they were going to need a bigger kettle.

"Oh, I don't know, something about the End Of The World, and that sort of thing," speculated Cologne. "It might cause problems even back home."

Genma shrugged. That sort of made sense.

"Besides, I can see the boy has talent," said Cologne with a smile, knowing full well that flattery could get you into all sorts of places. Not that it wasn't true. "So while I was looking for a cure for granddaughter's curse-"

"Ri've got ra rittle rexperience rith rat sorru ring ryself," confessed Genma, biting off a hunk of bamboo as punctuation to the statement.

"So what do you say a little exchange of techniques and your Ranma can help with my training of my great-granddaughter." Cologne was hoping that the soup (which was a perfectly normal soup made with dried vegetables and herbs) demonstrated their potential usefulness. This really was too amusing a situation not to want to keep an eye on it.

"Rat rind rof curse rhe rot?" Genma asked curiously. Hopefully she didn't turn into a female panda. That would be difficult to explain to Nodoka.

"Oh, it's not dangerous," said Cologne reassuringly. "It's just that:
