First, they'd come up with the "fix" to Ranma's situation by coming up with the pokegirl scenario - mostly based off of an obscure hentai dojinshi. After things went into effect though, they were subject to the retcon and couldn't quite remember what it was that they'd done. Just that they were trying to fix a problem with their "buddy" and pokegirl trainer-to-be Ranma Saotome.
During the retcon, they'd seen the picture of Ranma after Jusenkyo and before the cure. Having a busty redheaded pokegirl had appealed to them, so they'd tried to make Ranma that pokegirl. That'd solve all kinds of problems, after all.
It hadn't worked, and they'd momentarily moved things along by using the Great Will to solve OTHER problems.
After that they'd made "adjustments" and now Hiroshi had Sayuri and Daisuke had Yuka, two Ingenue. (A Normal base-type.)
Yes, they'd made Ranma a direct relative of the creator of pokegirls. Yes, Ranma was a lot more wealthy. And if someone came to kill Ranma because of that link, well - better him than them. They were quite content watching the trouble/entertainment from the sidelines instead of being on the stage themselves, thank you very much.
Of course, Ranma HAD to have rivals. Hiroshi and Daisuke made absolutely sure of that. It wouldn't be as entertaining if all he had coming after him were thieves and assassins.
Had Ranma thought to ask his pokedex or the Great Will, he would have discovered that he had these rivals. Not only what he'd think of as usual rivals from his original past, but others that Hiroshi and Daisuke thought would be fun. For them, not for Ranma.
Other relatives of Jim who thought they should inherit more. People who had issues with pokegirls in general. Remnants of the forces that had unleashed the Plague and still wanted to strike down those they felt responsible for their failure. Rivals who sought to prove themselves against Ranma's pokegirls. Even some who were the required bumbling fools who were more useful for comedy than anything serious. Hiroshi and Daisuke had each sought to outdo the other in the quality and diversity of opponents.
Then, when the two were thinking to celebrate their victories, the Great Will had apparently shut down.
"Saotome. I shall deal with you. You will know the agony of defeat at the hands of... RYOUGA HIBIKI!"
"Not again," protested Shiro.
Kuro merely shrugged, though her ears went momentarily flat as if annoyed.
Sasuke told Kuno while his Master was sitting in the bath working on a haiku.
Kuno raced to the parapet that hung out over the street to proclaim his desire to have the pick of the Tendo litter.
Several passerby told him to at least put on a towel as they REALLY didn't need to see that.
Kuno realized that he was not at his best appearance. Or state of clothing.
He got beaned in the face by a thrown rock about that time.
Despite, or perhaps it was aided by, Kuno's state of undress - the rumors started flying.
Ranma Saotome was making his choice at last.
The Apocalypse was coming.
Ranma Saotome was having sex with his various candidates to decide who was his best fit.
Ranma Saotome had finally had enough and was leaving Nerima.
Tatewaki Kuno had just proclaimed his manly love for Ranma Saotome.
Ranma Saotome was choosing his Alpha and Kuno was choosing HIS Alpha and the two would fight a duel over who went first.
Ranma Saotome was only considering choosing an Alpha, and Tatewaki Kuno was an idiot.
These and more were circulating by the time Tatewaki Kuno had chosen his outfit.
