Great Will - CCPG: Vacation [Episode 225654]

by Kestral

Jim Sukotto had no idea about changes made in his base reality. Which was for the better actually.

Instead of relaxing on the beach, the half-Japanese/half-Irish American would have been quite vexed.

"Ah, how I love this Hawaiian vacation," said Jim, with his toes in the water and his butt on the sand.

"And here's your drink, Sir," said a young girl, kneeling nearby with a tray.

"Oooh, thank you, my good lady," said Jim as he placed a folded bill on her tray. "Here's a tip for you."

"A hundred dollars?" asked the girl, who then smiled and nodded her head graciously.

Jim watched the girl sashay away and merely smiled and sipped at the drink.

"Sir? She works for you, you know."

Jim used one finger to ease his sunglasses down just enough that he could look over the edge. "Your point?"

The blacksuited woman made a disgusted noise and just looked at one of the phalanx of similarly attired women nearby.

"A vacation, Number Thirteen, is where one goes to enjoy themselves and depressurize so that stress does not accumulate overmuch," said Jim.

"I know that," said the Security pokegirl. "You OWN this resort. All the employees work for you."

"Vacations are VERY important," Jim informed the pokegirl. Not that she could help being very focussed and professional. "So, have you scanned for threats recently?"

"The Psychics remain vigilant," said Number Thirteen, who had another name that she just plain didn't like.

Jim studied her for a moment over the rims of his Cheap Sunglasses and sipped his margarita. Finally he slipped the glasses back into place and leaned back to his previous position. "Where did I go wrong?"

"Sir?" asked Number Thirteen.

"You're an original," said Jim. "One of the Amazon series. Subtype Steel - meaning a weapon user. Yet you are SO uptight. Why can't you be more like your sister over there?"

"She's not a sister," said Number Thirteen, glancing down the beach. "THAT is something so dangerous it shouldn't be allowed out of a lab. If not destroyed for the sake of everyone ahead of time."

"She's a child," said Jim. "Currently building an overly elaborate sandcastle. Let her develop normally before you going condemning her as a monster. Has she done anything monstrous?"

"Well, no," admitted Number Thirteen.

"I'll take her offplanet to exercise and train her powers," said Jim. "It's not as if 'Alice' will do anything particularly naughty."

Number Thirteen shuddered, knowing exactly what 'Alice' was.

Genma yawned, stretched, and scratched himself as he allowed himself the luxury of a slow awakening. Such a rough life he led, it would be nice to just relax once in awhile.

"Husband, it is for you," said Nodoka Saotome, bringing the phone closer.

Genma cracked open one eye, and caught a glimpse of hunger on Nodoka's face, but there WAS the phone. Oh well.

"Genma Saotome here," said Genma automatically on answering the call. "Ah, Soun. What's... he IS?! FINALLY?! Ah. Yes, yes, I'll start out right away."

Seeing her husband settle the phone into the cradle, Nodoka raised an eyebrow and asked a simple question. "Ranma?"

"He's choosing an Alpha," said Genma. "I'll get to City Hall. When Ranma makes his choice, Soun will call me on the cellphone and it'll be registered and done with at last."

She floated above the floor in a lotus position by exactly 32cm.

Eyes opened but remained focussed on something outside the dormitory. "He's choosing."

"Who he?" asked another.

"Choosing what? Ice cream?" asked a third, not looking up from her embroidery.

"He's choosing his Alpha, though he's not aware that's what he's doing," said the Psychic-type. "He thinks he's just gathering information, yet when he's done in his own mind he will have settled one choice above the others."

"Oh, is that all?" asked the second, resuming her work with her weights. "Oh. Wait a minute."

There was dead silence as everyone in the dorm came to a complete halt.

"WAGGGGGGGH! HURRY!" yelled the mob as the girls charged out of the doors, windows, and even one that bypassed all of it in a teleport.

Ranma was curious, and so checked to find he could simply put in a name and have the pokedex pull up a record it had 'previously scanned' - which was handy for the odd thought that had occurred to him.

Scanning. Entry found. Registry found.

Yuka Yamamoto
Species: Ingenue
Genus: Neo-Human
Primary Element: Normal
Sub-Element: Normal
Physique Type: Very Near Human
Level: 5
Registered To: Daisuke Honda
Notable Abilities: Minimal pokegirl characteristics, enhanced tactile sensitivity, enhanced physical durability, enhanced healing rate, enhanced digestive capability.
Notes (brief): Ingenue is the base Neo-Human (those almost indistinguishable from human) of the Normal subtype. This was mainly the result of those seeking to avoid the Plague and had less than 5% pokegirl augmentation.
Ingenue are not considered combat-capable, as their "powers" are entirely in the area of environmental survival. Those who became Ingenue were able to determine that their healing rate was increased 150% and physical durability was at least doubled.
Due to the availability for study of human-to-Ingenue, they are also one of the most understood of the pokegirl species. Their metabolism, reflected in that healing factor and durability, runs faster and hotter than it had as human. Their digestive systems are more efficient than previously, allowing them to feed that metabolic furnace on nearly the same level of food they previously consumed.
Ingenue also comprise the bulk of those who received minimal pokegirl enhancement to survive the ravages of the Plague.

Ranma nodded at that before a shadow fell over him and he realized he was about to meet the revamped:
