About the only swordsman that Akane really knew in Nerima was a self righteous, arrogant, and pompous jackass who couldn't get past his delusions to see that she despised the fact that he even existed.
Of course, even Kuno's wealth paled in comparison to Sylvia's, as her family was the sort involved with international finance. In fact, they had no problem with being able to send her to attend high school in Japan, just like Akane herself went to Furinkan. For them, it wasn't that hard to do, and she knew that her friend could have easily chosen any school in the planet, had she felt like it.
But as she looked at the happy expression on her father's face, Akane found it hard to burst the man's bubble. After all, there was no way that Ranma, who was absolutely in love with his shapely blonde wife was going to show any sign of giving her up, and there was no chance that the Tendo sisters were going to try and ruin that relationship. Heck, the siblings just plain /liked/ the pair too much to do that to them, and so causing trouble for the couple was the last thing on their minds.

In no way was Akane looking to give them an opportunity to confirm their assumptions about her, false or not.
Glancing over towards her sisters, she spotted similar feelings running through their eyes, and knew that they were together in their feelings on what was going on. Unfortunately, none of them had ever really thought about any sort of romantic relationship with the pigtailed boy, which meant that they didn't have a way to handle this development. Being a couple with him had never seemed possible or desirable, so there was never a need to come up with a way to avoid or get out of it.
Sighing, Akane wondered about just what they should do in this instance. Things were already getting messy, and the couple in question hadn't even gotten directly involved yet. It wasn't all that likely that they'd break up, and they could certainly defend each other. In fact, it had been their dedication to the fighting arts that been part of what had drawn them together. However, she just didn't like the idea of any trouble coming their way because of her family.
Even though she wasn't a strategist by nature, she tried to come up with a way to keep the worst of the trouble off of Sylvia Saotome's doorstep, while:
