Faking It: The Kunos are on their way! [Episode 226089]

“Very well, Auntie, I will be there shortly.”

Kodachi hung up the phone, already working out what she wanted to wear in her mind.

Showing up in her own wedding dress had not been well received the last time, so that option was out.

An evening gown would make her undoubtedly look good and catch her Ranma-sama's eye, but it wasn't really the occasion for that.

That left her with her standard leotard. It showed off her body nicely and was practical.

Or maybe she could she go with something conservative. A kimono? Auntie Nodoka seemed to prefer them. If Kodachi arrived dressed in a kimono as well, it might improve Auntie's opinion of her.

But kimonos were kind of impractical, and not a very good outfit to fight in. Auntie had said that the peasant girls that considered themselves potential brides for her Ranma-sama as well would be there too, and Kodachi was sure they would inevitably end up fighting, if only to keep up appearances.

In which case wearing a kimono would be bad. It just wouldn't do for her, the Black Rose, to be unable to participate in a fight. Not only did regular battles with her rivals for Ranma-sama's love help keep up her skills, she actually quite enjoyed them. And the making up with the other girls afterwards was always so much fun!

Hmm, what to wear, what to wear? Kodachi thought.

Maybe if she wore a leotard underneath her kimono? It would only be a matter of getting out of the restrictive kimono and she'd be ready for battle. Plus, she could hide her gymnastics ribbon inside the sleeves.

Yes, Kodachi decided, she would do that.

She walked over to her walk-in closet to pick out the kimono she would be wearing, pulling out and immediately discarding several different ones.

In the end she picked a dark purple one. It was embroidered with black roses and cut in a rather more modern fashion, emphasising a woman's curves. A black obi completed the outfit.

She picked up her chosen outfit and went into her dressing room to get ready.

“Yes. This will do nicely,” Kodachi concluded as she inspected herself in a mirror. “OHOHOHOHO!!! Tonight, my dear Ranma-sama will realise that I, Kodachi Kuno, The Black Rose of St. Bacchus, am the only girl worthy of his affections. OHOHOHOHO!!!”

She struck one last pose in front of her mirror, then turned to leave.

Now she only had to tell her idiot brother where she was going. He would no doubt want to tag along, if for no other reason than to make a fool out of himself in his hopeless endeavour to woo that peasant Tendo girl and the red haired harridan.

When she arrived at her brother's room she barged in without knocking – a buffoon like Tatewaki did not deserve even the most basic courtesy.

“Brother dear, I'm going out for a bit. Ranma-sama's mother has called and invited me over. I do not know how long I will be gone, but it would not surprise me if I were to come back only tomorrow morning. OHOHOHOHOHO!!!”

Her brother shot her an annoyed look. He was sitting at his desk, chewing on a pen as he undoubtedly composed another one of his poor love poems.

“Can't you see that I'm busy, depraved sister? Get out, I do not wish to be disturbed.”

Kodachi covered her mouth demurely behind one hand, a gesture that she immediately ruined by letting out a mocking laugh. “Hohoho! When will you accept that you simply do not have a talent for poetry, my demented brother?”

“That is not what I am doing.” Tatewaki sniffed arrogantly. “I am composing a letter to the Emperor of Japan himself! Asking for his assistance and divine blessing in my struggle to vanquish the foul sorcerer Saotome!”

“My beloved, mentally challenged brother. Why must you insist with this foolishness? My Ranma-sama is the noblest of men, both in spirit and body. I grow tired with your baseless accusations against him.”

“Nay! 'Tis but more proof that the wretched Saotome is a creature as vile as the devil himself! For who else but the most wicked of creatures could manage to catch my depraved sister's eye?”

Kodachi let out a long-suffering sigh. “Very well. I see that it is pointless to argue with you about this. I shall be going then.”

“Halt, sister!” Tatewaki called when Kodachi reached for the doorknob. “I have decided to accompany you. My two loves have gone far too long without my loving embrace. I shall surprise them and graciously accept their eternal love they will no doubt confess to me today!”

Kodachi rolled her eyes. Her brother was such a buffoon. “Whatever you say, brother dearest.”
