Faking It - Great Guardians: The Beast Is Unleashed [Episode 226162]

by Gorgo

"Um, Kyech…?"

"Hai, Ranma?"

"I think you made a mistake."

"No, Ranma. There are two of you."

Suikô perked on hearing those voices, and then as her eyes returned to normal, she looked left to see a red-haired Noukiite approach her, flanked on both sides by two Terrans, one in a red tang and black trousers, the other in a button blouse and jeans. Instantly recognising Kyech and Ranma from the television reports yesterday afternoon, she focused on the other woman before her eyes widened and a delighted smile crossed her face. "Well, I'll be damned!" she breathed out before walking over to standing before Hakufu. "You're Minaka's cousin, aren't you? Tsueko Mago, right?" As Hakufu gaped at her, the wandering tôshi offered her hand to her friend's cousin, winking. "I'm Shinmi Izuku. People like us tend to call me 'Suikô Kajin.' Yoroshiku."

Hakufu blinked, and then she gasped. "Eh?! You're Jin-chan?!" With a squeal, she grasped Suikô's hand in her own as she nearly bowled down the other tôshi with a glomp that would even knock the breath out of Shampoo! "Oh, wow! Chû-chan told me so much about you!" She then grasped Suikô's hands in both of hers. "We really, really, REALLY got to have a fight soon, Jin-chan! I really want to learn what you learned!"

Suikô gaped at her, and then she laughed, waving the younger girl down. "Okay! Okay! Calm down, Fu-chan! We'll get that chance, I promise you!"

"This is Minaka-san's cousin?"

Everyone turned as Hiromi walked up, Reishi at her side. Tariko, Lum, Oyuki and Benten came up behind them, they soon joined by Kuohu, Kyekkyek and Shiryû. "Hai, Mioko, she is!" She then perked on seeing the silver-haired tôshi standing nearby. "Well, well, well, Kumomi-chan. You're looking as stunning as ever."

Everyone was quick to see Shiryû's cheeks redden slightly. "Please, Shinmi-san! Stop being so forward with me!" she pleaded, which made everyone gape at her. "You are fully aware of the fact that I have chosen someone else as my beloved."

A nod. "Hai, hai. And it would happen to be that ultra-hot Mien Natsukimi, ne?!"

Shiryû's cheeks reddened even more. "A former lover, I presume?" Kuohu wondered.

The silver-haired tôshi gargled. "Um, s-s-somewhat…!"

Laughter filled the crowd, and then Suikô tensed on feeling someone approach her from behind. Turning, she found herself gazing deeply into Kyech's chestnut eyes for a moment before her own eyes started to glow again. "Why?" she demanded, her voice echoing with the same type of boom Hakufu usually projected whenever Shàobà took control over her. "Why couldn't you give her the benefit of the doubt?"

"She never gave Nengmek'i or the others any chance to truly understand her," Kyech returned the same way, her own eyes glowing. "Don't blame them, Shinmi. They tried many times, but she refused to respond to them."

Suikô stared at her, and then she closed her eyes. "Is she still alive?"

Kyech relaxed herself, shaking her head. "I can't say."

"Um…!"

The Noukiite perked, and then she sighed. "Don't be nervous, Kanami. You were too young and too much in mental and physical pain to gain any chance to know Hucheng-ch'ekyunghechha in the brief time you were together. It appears Shinmi was far closer to her than any living being, dragon or biped, on Noukiios ever could be to her." Her eyes then focused on Reishi. "And you as well, Mioko." A quiet hum escaped her as she gazed on Hiromi's reborn wife. "I was wrong again. There are three of you."

"Don't worry about it, Kyech! We all make mistakes!" Kyekkyek assured her.

"Indeed we do," Kuohu mused as she gazed at her adopted sister with a knowing look.

Laughter echoed over the crowd. "Well, since you're both here, why don't you both come to the house so we can have supper together?" Hiromi then offered.

"What about the ten morons who helped you back on your feet, Hiromi?" Suikô warned.

Hiromi chuckled. "Oh, relax! Relax! I'll make them behave, Shinmi-san."

"I'm sure you will." Suikô then reached over to draw Tariko into a one-armed embrace. "And if they don't, we've got the right way of making them behave right here!"

Tariko jolted, and then she gazed wide-eyed at the wandering tôshi as Suikô gave her a knowing look before a fist of ice-cold fear flooded her heart…

Some minutes later…

"Ara…!" Shiryû breathed out.

"This is making the whole day even more fun," Shimei said before sipping her tea.

Suikô gazed on the blue-haired tôshi. "Haven't had the chance to bed one of Tariko's male doubles, Mimôko-chan?" she asked with a knowing leer.

Shimei's cheeks reddened. "Working on it right now, Shinmi."

"Can you cut me in for a little bit of the action?"

Shimei nodded to the kitchen. "The one making supper is free."

A whoop escaped the wandering tôshi. "Oh, you are SUCH a friend, Mimôko-chan!" With that, she got up and headed into the kitchen, putting a little sway into her hips.

The others in the living room watched her go, and then Shinobu blinked as she gazed on the Attendants, whose bodies were all burning with outrage as they glared death at the wandering tôshi's back. She then turned to Reishi; both of them were flanking Hiromi, with Tariko to Reishi's left and Kakin to Shinobu's right. "Um, Mioko-san, I don't recall what happened to you then. Why are Hiromi's friends so mad at your sister?"

"Oh, this is a silly rivalry back from the days of the court in Luòyáng, Shinobu-san," Reishi replied as she gazed on the Attendants, all of whom immediately began to shudder as they sensed their reborn emperor's wife glare rake them down. "Sadly, much that many would have wished otherwise, my husband allowed his attendants to grow far too powerful when it came to affairs of state. After she died, Nê-chan and I tried to put things back to normal, but they killed Nê-chan and caused a huge mess to occur."

"And that allowed Chûei Tôtaku's past-self to eventually take control after he rescued my nephews from the idiots here and had him installed on the throne," Suikô said as she returned to the living room, the android Ataru behind her with a tray of food for everyone to enjoy. "Of course, they didn't like being pushed out of power, but they did make a huge mess of things there, so it was ultimately for the good."

"And you would have done better?!" Chôjô snarled as she glared at Suikô.

"Well, you bushwhacked me before I got a chance," Suikô said as she took her seat, this time placing herself to Kyekkyek's right, leaving a space for Ataru to sit between them. She then smiled a death's head smile at the leader of the Attendants. "And that's the ONLY time you've been able to pull it off, Yuzumi-chan."

"You've encountered them before, Shinmi-san?" Shiryû wondered.

"I was usually the one who make sure their goofball plans for enslaving all of you were derailed, Kumomi-chan," Suikô stated, and then she grinned as the Attendants glared at her. "After all, it was no fair to bring Hiromi back if Mioko couldn't be with her."

Reishi blushed. "Is this the first time you've both been alive in the same generation, Lady Shinmi?" Kuohu asked as she stared at the wandering tôshi.

Suikô nodded. "Hai."

"Damn you…!" Sôsetsu snarled as she moved to stand.

"Setsumi, sit down."

The raven-haired tôshi jolted. "My Empress!" she pleaded.

"Well, at least they got the gender right," Suikô noted.

"Shinmi, stop provoking her."

The wandering tôshi balked, and then she sighed. "Sorry about that, Hiromi."

"Forgiven," Hiromi stated.

With that, Suikô and Sôsetsu sat down. Benten smirked as she slurped her udon. "Gotta admit this, Hiromi: you really know how to keep the leashes on your troops!"

"While I personally would prefer not to do that especially given that Setsumi and her friends did help me get my life back and that Shinmi is, in all the ways that really count, my sister-in-law, it will appear that I have no choice but to do that, Benten-san," Hiromi noted, and then she sighed. "A pity I never did that back then."

"The system was well and truly rotted through by the time you took the throne, Hiromi-sama," Shiryû stated as she "gazed" at the reborn emperor. "I doubt even if you did have the willpower and the energy back then — the fact that you took the throne at age twelve certainly worked against you — it would not have made much of a difference. There were far too many ambitious people, even beyond your court, to have properly kept in line, especially with all the other problems existent back then."

"Kumomi-san is right, Dearest," Reishi stated as she gazed on Hiromi. "Take your mind away from the past and bring it here where it belongs."

A nod. "You're right about that, Mioko," Hiromi mused.

"Some will not forget the past, My Empress," Chôjô warned.

A sigh. "True, you're right, Yuzumi. But since we do have a sample of 'mainstream' tôshi, let's ask them themselves before making assumptions, shall we?" Hiromi then gazed on Hakufu. "Tsueko-san, what do you think about being a tôshi?"

Hakufu shrugged. "I like to fight. It makes me happy and gives me the chance to get exercise and test myself against people like me." She then grasped Ranma's hand. "It helped me meet the person I love more than life itself." A shrug. "All this dumb talk about destiny and all that…!" She snorted. "Waste of hot air if you ask me. A person's destiny is their own choice and no one else's. Implying that they have to fill some great 'role' in life, like what people say should happen between Tsu-chan and me…" A shake of her head. "Nope. My life is mine. Tsu-chan's life is hers. I'll fight her because I know she's a great fighter and I need to test myself against someone like her so I can improve myself. That's the way it should always be."

Everyone stared at the strawberry-blonde tôshi, many of the others in the room wide-eyed at the show of maturity she had just displayed. "You really mean that?" Shimei asked.

"Sure I do, Mô-chan. Why shouldn't I?"

Shiryû turned to Ranma. "You taught her very well, Ranma-san."

A shrug. "When I began to really fall in love with her, Haeko-obasan took me aside and told me about what could happen to Fu-chan when she went to Nan'yô finally." The redhead shook her head. "Nope. Far as I'm concerned even now, if some idiot wants to drag Fu-chan into playing some idiot role based on what went down back in China, they're facing me first. I killed someone with the power of a phoenix behind him a month ago. Much that I would prefer not to walk down that path, if someone touches my girl or plans to do something to her — especially for some dork-ass reason that has no place these days — I will show them no mercy."

Many of the Attendants all gulped on hearing that dark promise. "As it should be, of course," Hiromi noted. "What of yourself, Kumomi-san? If what Shinmi said back on the street told me of your current relationship, you're now lovers with Myôsai Kakôen of Kyoshô, right?" As the silver-haired tôshi nodded, Hiromi then smiled at her. "What do you think of this? What would you do if Seito and Kyoshô went to war?"

Shiryû tensed on hearing that, and then she sighed. "To be honest with you, Hiromi-sama, I would wish that day never to come," she admitted. "Mien is my life despite her loyalty to Torumi-sama — understandable since they are cousins, after all — and mine to Sonami-san even if my past-self never participated in the Oath of the Peach Grove as Haneko-san and Asumi-san did with Sonami-san. If we both survive what might come, she will be my future. I will do all I can to help it." A sigh as she "stared" at Chôjô. "But sadly, Yuzumi-san here has a very strong point, Hiromi-sama. Even if both Torumi-sama and Sonami-san desire peace, there are far too many who want war."

"That can be channelled in the right direction when the time comes," Hiromi noted.

Shiryû's eyebrow arched. "You have something in mind?"

"Something I hope will come true sometime soon," Hiromi noted as she gazed on Tariko and Lum. "Something that involves Onê-san and Lum-san, not to mention some things they now need to deal with, which will start in earnest tomorrow at noon."

"Your move to remove the Niphentaxians from this planet, you mean?" Shimei wondered.

"Exactly."

"Well, if I can just butt in for a moment here, I think I may have something that can help it along," Suikô then noted before sipping her tea.

Everyone gazed at her. "What?" Tariko asked.

The wandering tôshi smiled. "I know you big secret, Tariko-chan."

Everyone blinked. "Hey, we're aware that Tariko was Ataru, you know!" Benten stated.

"No, Benten, not that secret. The REAL secret!"

Tariko jolted before she felt Lum's hand on her shoulder, and then the Oni turned to glare at her future sister-in-law. "How do you know about Negako-san?!"

Everyone save Hiromi, Reishi and the Noukiites stared in confusion at her, and then they looked at Tariko for a moment before turning back to Suikô. "'Negako?'" the wandering tôshi breathed out. "Did she choose that name or did you, Tariko-chan?"

"No, it was chosen for her by some friends she made eighty years ago," Tariko replied, her face melted into a neutral grimace as she glared at Suikô.

Suikô blinked. "She actually has more friends? I thought only that old letch that Ranma here calls her grandmaster was the only friend she had!"

Ranma perked. "Eh?! Jijii?! Hey, Tariko! What's this all about, anyway?!"

"It is best if it is shown to you."

Everyone blinked, and then gaped on seeing Kyech now standing behind Tariko. Lum spun on her, trying to wave the Noukiite off. "Kyech, stop! WAIT! Don't…!"

Too late; Kyech's ki-charged finger slammed into the back of Tariko's head right at the base of the occipital bone, right where it opened up to allow the spinal column to link in. Tariko's eyes went wide for a second before a bright glow escaped those orbs as she collapsed onto the table before her, caught before smashing into her food by Kyech's hand. "KYECH-SAN! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" Shinobu yelled as she bolted to her feet, lunging over to shove the Noukiite from her transformed ex-boyfriend…

And then she cried out as Tariko's right hand snared hers with a grip of steel.

"What…?!" she demanded before looking down…

And then a choked gasp escaped her on seeing Tariko's skin paling into a sickly white-grey shade as black tiger-striping, similar to the tattoos on Kyech's and Suikô's bodies, began to appear. Those in the room with well-honed ki senses all stared wide-eyed at their host as the tiger-striping covered her whole body, including her face, as her left hand shifted around to allow her to return to a sitting position, revealing a face possessing a frightfully neutral look on it, both eyes glowing like miniature suns.

"MY THANKS, KYECH," she said as she released Shinobu's hand.

Ôiso, the Tsukasame mansion…

"TORUMI!"

Chûtatsu Shiba'i gasped as she watched Môtoku Sôsô bolt out of bed and race for the glass doors leading onto the former's bedroom balcony. Tossing those open, the leader of Kyoshô stopped as she gazed in a northward direction, her eyes narrow as her mind and ki senses began to blare an alarm. "No…!" she hissed out as she quickly fought down a surge of sudden fear. "It CAN'T be…!"

"WHAT?!" Chûtatsu gasped as she shifted herself on the bed and stare wide-eyed at her lover. "What is it, Torumi?! What's wrong?! What did you feel?!" she pleaded.

Môtoku shuddered as she took a second to interpret that, and she turned to stare at her beloved, her brown eyes wide. "An old enemy has come back to haunt us, Yoiko," she said as she walked back in, closing the doors behind her before she moved over to sit on the bed and draw Chûtatsu into her arms. "A very old enemy, indeed…"

The other woman took a moment to consider that, and then her face paled as she stared up into Môtoku's face. "You mean…?" she croaked.

A nod. "Yeah. The Black Death has returned."

With that, she moved immediately to draw Chûtatsu into her arms…

Chichibu, the apartment house near Seito…

"Hey, Unchô! Did you…?"

"I did," Unchô Kan'u said as her eyes turned southeast.

"What the fuck IS that, anyway?!" Ekitoku Chôhi demanded as both moved to stare out the window of her bedroom, gazing into the growing evening.

"Something I hoped we would never run into in this lifetime, old friend," Unchô said as she gently gripped Ekitoku's shoulder. "Something that, no matter how powerful any of us became over the generations and the years we've lived and died, always was several levels better than we. And was welded with the precision of the best surgeon, striking us down again and again whenever the rulers of this land felt we were too much of a threat to them." Her light blue eyes narrowed as she suppressed the shudder that was starting to quake her arms and legs. "But the last time it happened…"

Ekitoku looked at her. "You mean…?" Her eyes then went wide. "Holy SHIT! You mean to say that crazy story was REAL?!"

"Hai," the older woman said with a grim nod. "I faced it once in a previous life. And that was the LAST day of that life!" She then sank onto the bed as she moved to hug herself. "But why in the name of the gods has that thing come back NOW…?!"

Ekitoku stared at her, unable to muster anything of an answer…

Bunkyô Ward, near Rakuyô Senior High School…

"Ryofu-sama, what's wrong?! What did you sense?!"

A nude Hôsen Ryofu was now standing at the open patio door of her private home. She was gazing to the west, her whole body visibly shaking as her mind tried to interpret what she had just sensed explode from the direction of Tomobiki. "I don't know, Kôdai," she whispered as she felt Kôdai Chinkyû's hands wrap around her waist as the younger tôshi tried to comfort her beloved. "I just don't know…" she whispered before she moved to hug herself. "But it feels so familiar to me…"

Kôdai stared at her. "Ryofu-sama…"

Nerima, the Nekohanten…

"Dear Goddess, NO! Not THAT thing…!"

"What's wrong, Hibâ-chan?!"

Hearing Shampoo's concerned voice echo in her ears as all her metasenses were trained to the west of Nerima, Cologne jolted before she shook her head and stared intently at her relative. "Look back on the customers, child! Leave me!" she ordered.

Shampoo gaped. "Hibâ-chan…!"

"DO AS I SAY!"

The warrior-maiden jolted, and then she shakily nodded. "H-h-hai!"

She immediately headed out of the kitchen as the Nyûjiézú elder turned to gaze once more towards Tomobiki, her senses reaching out to probe the ancient and deadly entity that had just awoken in the very heart of…

Oh, Goddess!

How could she have been so BLIND?!

It could only be within ONE person.

Tariko Moroboshi.

"Dear Goddess! Help that poor child…!"

The Tendô dôjô…

"Well, I'll be damned…!"

"Ojii-san, are you alright?"

Happôsai blinked as his ears picked up Kasumi's concerned question, and then he turned to stare at the elder Tendô daughter. He was currently relaxing by the koi pond, his eyes having been locked westward went that powerful wash of ki flowed past him. "I…!" he began before he chuckled. "Oh, don't mind me, Kasumi-chan!" He immediately picked himself up and dusted his backside off. "Anyhow, I might be a few hours late for supper! Don't wait up for me! Something I need to look in on!"

And with that, he bounded onto the roof of the house before racing off. Kasumi watched him go, and then she hummed. "I hope whatever that was isn't too much trouble," she mused to herself before she headed back inside to finish supper…

Tomobiki, Sakura's shrine…

"Gods!"

Hearing his fiancée's strangled gasp, Tsubame Ozuno perked as he stared at her. "What's wrong, Sakura…?" he began before tensing as his own mystical senses came to life and alerted him as to what had just woken at the Moroboshi home. "Oh, my!"

Sakura Sakurambô shuddered as she staggered to her feet, her own metasenses now being bombarded with the waves of energy that had just washed over her, nearly driving her to her knees as the level of POWER that had just been unleashed. Unleashed from…

Wait…

Who WAS that, anyway?!

She felt familiar, but…

"Damn…!"

Instantly, Tsubame is at her side, whispering a spell to form a magic shield around her to reduce the sensory overload on Sakura's mind. "Calm down, Sakura! Take deep breaths and relax yourself!" he urged her as he gazed intently towards the Moroboshi home, his powers reaching out to try to penetrate that home's walls to better perceive what was happening within. "Let me take a look…!"

His voice then caught in his throat as he felt those magic probes slam into something as hard as purest diamond and deflect off into the evening. "What in Merlin's name…?!" he demanded as he tried to interpret what just happened.

"Wh-what…?" Sakura sputtered.

He gave her a look of disbelief. "I don't know, Sakura…"

In a lot close to the Moroboshi home…

"Dear Buddha! I can't believe it…!"

Hayao Sakurambô — known to all in Tomobiki either by his family name (which he took as his monastic name decades before) or by the English near-translation of that name, "Cherry" — could only stare in shock as he felt the billowing waves of invisible energy explode from the Moroboshi home and radiate out at the speed of light to encompass of the Kantô basin. "To believe the poor child was cursed by that of all things…!" he breathed out before grabbing his staff and racing out of his camp, heading as quick as his small legs could take him to where he was needed.

And he was certainly needed NOW.

But could even his skill in Buddhist mysticism…?

Defeat an entity created from a THOUSAND years of martial arts knowledge?

Driven by the trapped soul of a being that desired freedom…

And had no compassion, no mercy, no HUMANITY to caution its actions?

That clearly had to be the architect of all the insane things that had haunted the life of Ataru Moroboshi since the day they met before the First Tag Race.

That now was free…

In the immediate range of DOZENS of innocent people…

And could now…!

Cherry grunted as he willed more speed into his legs.

He had his duty to do.

No matter what.

Meanwhile, back at Ground Zero…

"They needed to understand what you are, Negako," Kyech stated.

"You should have given us the chance to warn people first, Kyech!" Lum objected.

Silence fell for a moment as people stared at the transformed Tariko, and then eyes turned back to Suikô, who had a mad grin on her face. "Welcome back, Negako," the wandering tôshi stated as she calmly sipped her tea. "Who chose that name, anyway?"

"HAKUSHI AYANOKÔJI'S FIRST CREATION, KURUMI," Tariko replied in a voice that reminded many people in the room of something straight out of a zombie film, it booming with such a sense of death and doom that many began to shiver and start to slowly shift away from her. Her eyebrow then arched as those glowing eyes fixed on Suikô for a moment. "YOU CAME HERE TO ASSIST IN MY FINAL SEPARATION FROM TARIKO."

People were quick to sense the entity's words were a statement, and then eyes snapped back to Suikô, who looked embarrassed. "Aw! You ruined the surprise!"

"How?!" Lum demanded. "Even if Darling's been able to have enough dark ki gathered up to use for Negako-san to separate herself from her, her life could still…"

"Not if you have a body pre-prepared ahead of time, Lum-chan."

Silence.

"There is an Avalonian factory line here on Earth?!" Kuohu demanded.

A nod. "Yep." Suikô focused on Lum. "Your so-called 'worshippers' have been preparing a little back-up plan ever since Tariko called down Nengmek'i-jichan to punish all the idiots here trying to butt in the way of you two getting together."

"What back-up plan?!" Lum snarled.

"USING AVALONIANS TO REPLACE HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS FROM SCHOOLS BOTH WITHIN AND BEYOND TOMOBIKI'S BOUNDARIES, LUM. TO STAND READY TO REPLACE THOSE OBSERVERS AND ENSURE THE CONTINUED REPLICATION OF ALL YOUR FRIENDS' DIARIES WILL STILL CONTINUE EVEN IF THOSE OBSERVERS WERE TO FACE DEATH AT THE HANDS OF NENGMEK'I OR ANYONE ELSE."

Benten and Oyuki gazed at the transformed Tariko for a moment, and then they spun on Lum. "Hey! What the fuck's going on here, anyway?! What's she talking about?!" the Fukunokami demanded as she waved at Tariko. "And what's HAPPENING to her, anyway?!"

The Oni moaned as she reached up to her forehead before she stared wearily at Benten. "Do you remember Kamen?" she then asked.

Silence.

Benten's jaw was on the floor. "K-k-Kamen…?" she sputtered out.

"Lum-chan…! You mean…?" Oyuki gasped.

Lum nodded. "Those replicas of ours were not just androids, Oyuki-chan. They're bioroids, no different than Kyech, Kuohu, Kyekkyek or any of the others," she stated. "Nassur-chan found that out right away when they were taken to Home Base after Ôgi presented them to us, and then they were allowed to go live on their own after he tried to tell all our parents of the truth of what was going on." A snort. "And failed." She gazed on her best friends. "Hard to believe, huh? Our parents believing Ôgi before Nassur?"

"Kamen is on Okusei, currently married to one of Kyech's friends from the days of the Tri-Kingdom period on Noukiios. That is where Hensô is, also; she is actually married to Mimôko's own 'spirit sister' among the Flower Youth. Mienai is now on Kaisei, married to one of the cousins of Kuohu's fiancée. As is Damasu."

Eyes locked on Tariko, who now was looking at Lum's oldest friends and lovers. While the transformation of her body remained in place, the glow in her eyes had dulled a bit and her voice no longer had that haunting boom in it. Even more so, there was a hint of compassion on her face as she stared at them. Hearing that proclamation — and sensing immediately that Tariko (or whatever she had become now) was speaking the truth — Benten and Oyuki seemed to deflate for a moment. "Kamen…!" the Fukunokami whispered as she hugged herself. "Gods, it's been…gods…"

"Mienai-chan…" Oyuki hissed out, her eyes tearing.

"And their love for you — as Damasu's is for Ran — is still undying."

Hearing that comment, Benten and Oyuki gazed on Tariko, and then both nodded, smiles crossing their faces before they moved to embrace each other.

"You're the Saikô Jinseijutsu, aren't you?"

Tariko's eyebrow arched as she gazed on Ranma. "You know of me."

The redhead nodded. "I read about you in scrolls at various temples and shrines Tô-chan and I visited during our training trip," she stated, a touch of awe in her voice as she stared at her transformed friend. "I heard some of the stories about you actually being some sort of dark kami that possesses people from time to time, but I felt it was pretty farfetched…!" A chuckle. "Until now, that is."

"What is this Saikô Jinseijutsu…?" Shinobu wondered.

"It is Death."

Eyes locked on Chôjô. Everyone was quick to notice that all of the Attendants were shifting themselves away from Tariko, their faces white with terror. "Haru-san…?" Shinobu began as she reached out for Kakin.

Chôjô spun on Suikô. "HAVE YOU TOTALLY LOST YOUR MIND?!" she howled as she pointed at the possessed Tariko. "BRINGING THIS THING DOWN ON ALL OUR HEADS?! YOU'VE JUST KILLED US ALL, YOU MANIAC! IT WILL…!"

"BE SILENT!"

EVERYONE was blasted down by that sonic boom that escaped Tariko's lips, even Kyech and Suikô. As people picked themselves up off the floor, the possessed teenager then crossed her arms as she stared in veiled amusement at Chôjô. "Yuzumi, if I was still obeying the orders of the Emperor of Japan when it came to dealing with those of your predecessors that were disturbing the harmony of this land, why are Hiromi and Mioko still alive, much less any of you?" she then asked as we…
