Saved by a Giant Robot: The Metal Angel's Glowing Grace. [Episode 226303]

by Ninja Kasuga of the Demonite Race

As cliched as it sounded, as often overused as it was, the words "war is hell" and "war never changes" have never been words immortal, spoke so true.

A city lay in ruins, buildings reduced from their former splendor to splinters of metal, wood or stone, shattered glass and melted debris fill the streets along with the bodies of the dead. How did it come to this? Why did war come to this city, why was it set ablaze?

The young person desperately running through the ruined husk of a city wished they knew. Their life up until an hour ago was mundane and typical, nothing truely exciting happened, yet life was good. Then the shelling, the explosions, followed by gunfire, screams, blood and fire.

Mother and Father were dead, they didn't have a chance as the house was incinerated by an artillery shell. The runner was fortunate enough to be outside and enough feet away from the house when this happened, if you could call it being fortunate. The machines began to send coded signals to the other using the optics of their mechs to send the signals via some form of morose code. Whatever the message was, it was not in her favor as they all lifted their rifles.

This was the end she was as good as dead.

...At least she would have been if fate did not intend otherwise.

A bright reddish flash fills the night as one of the offending machines is struck by a laser of some kind, three more beams follow hitting each of the machines in their cockpits, killing the pilots instantly, rendering their threat null and void.

As her would be killer's machines fall to the ground, the Runner looks up in the direction the beams came from; staring at the sky she looks in awe as her savior, another humanoid machine hovers in the sky.

Was she saved truely, or simply sentenced to a worse fate? Yet this machine intrigued her, it's design radically different from the ones that attacked her home. It looked interested...especially with-"
