Great Will - CCPG: Calming the Mob... Or Music Makes a Way? [Episode 227314]

by Tieran Valur

Hiroshi and Daisuke were still running from their pokegirls. So far they hadn't had the time or presence of mind to contemplate why the Great Will was no longer responding to their wishes. They just knew that it wasn't, and in the interests of self preservation, they'd taken to their heels to avoid the righteous indignation of their girls.

Unfortunately, their bad luck didn't end there.

The unruly mob that had been chasing Ranma, deprived for a time of the sight of their quarry had been left somewhat bewildered. Until they noted the presence of two pokegirls chasing something. As one, the pokegirls' eyes lit up, and they were back on the trail again, albeit the wrong trail.

Hiroshi glanced behind them and noted the increased dust cloud. He immediately began to run faster... which led his companion to look back and then double his speed as well. 'Why had the Great Will deserted them? What had they done to deserve this?'

...

It was the last delivery of the day, and the blond-haired boy was grateful for that fact. While Winner Enterprises was profitable, his father's desire had been to expand into other venues and countries in order to increase the profit margin. And that explained the presence of a young Quatre Winner in Japan. He was engaged in learning the ropes of day to day business oversight, and now accompanied by one of his sisters, sought to establish connections inside of that country for product testing. So far they had distributed prototype dummies to several dojo in the area, and once that was done, would be able to gauge how well the new materials held up under actual use conditions.

There was just one small problem... It seemed as though a stampede of some kind was headed their way.

Most of the citizens seemed to be trailing off of the streets. It seemed a wise action, given the size of the dust cloud. Still, he lingered where he was, watching until the Amazon-Lee returned with her report.

Which was quite quickly, it seems. The petite girl skidded to a halt and directed her attentions to Quatre's second, less conspicuous companion. Her words were short and whispered, but the young man merely sighed and nodded. He looked towards the Winner heir. "A mob, as we suspected. What do you wish to do?"

Quatre reached inside the vehicle and withdrew his violin case. "Stop them, if we can."

Rolling his eyes, his companion sighed and removed his eyeglasses, tucking them safely inside of a leather-bound case before laying them on the dashboard of the vehicle. "Why did I know that you'd say that?" He muttered, not unkindly. "Very well, Nataku and I will ensure that you and your sister remain unharmed." The petite Amazon-Lee perked up at hearing her name mentioned.

"Besides, Wufei," Quatre tested the tuning on his instrument, found it satisfactory and began to softly play the introduction to his piece. "if this keeps up, how will we obtain our directions to the Tendo Dojo? Everyone keeps migrating inside."

"I know I can trust you both to keep us unharmed."

At that moment, two boys ran past, screaming.

And Quatre launched fully into his playing, pouring out his soul and mind into the calming melody. In front of him, the first of the wave began to falter and slow, threatening to become overwhelmed by the weight of the girls behind them. The mob moved closer, and even as it did so, finally slowed to a halt, leaving pokegirls milling around in slight confusion. Quatre kept playing, despite the fine sheen of sweat that now coated his face.

Wufei dropped stance in front of the young businessman, and noted the Officer Jenny who was finally able to catch up to the stampede. She looked positively winded. He retrieved his glasses and returned to his employer. "You can stop now, an officer is here to take care of the rest."

Gratefully the Winner heir complied, winding down the song until its final notes faded from the instrument's strings. As he staggered back to replace the violin inside of its case, he cast a short look at his friend. "Remind me not to do that again anytime soon. That was a lot of aggression to bleed off in a short amount of time."

Wufei tilted his head to acknowledge the statement. "Agreed. But you were correct in that our chances to obtain directions have now increased."

"Rest a moment, and then we can see where it is that we need to go."
