The monster charged him and he backed up scared. He was alone, his magic had failed him in this blindingly bright land. It looked so familiar until it knocked him into the shadows then he saw it now that he could see properly. It was simply a dark creature, something from his home but it looked... tainted, twisted and wrong. He turned to start to run, shadow animals had almost no flight instinct and you needed magic to scare them off, but this one wasn't scared.
As he ran there was suddenly a huge snake in front of him and it opened it's mouth.
"ARGH!" Drask shouted in fear jumping back and "Ouff! Owww..." he murmured from the floor pitifully.
"Masssterrr? Arrre you hurrrrt?" Hrissa asked sticking her head up out of his arm.
"N-no I'm fine." he said and the snake nodded and settled back into the form of a tattoo and going back to sleep.
"Those monster's... both of them... they were shadow creatures but something was wrong with them. Very wrong, they're never that mean." he thought out loud.
"Astute observation." Setsuna's voice said and Drask was under the bed and looking around in fear before she could blink. "Sorry." she said and was gone.
It took a few minutes for him to calm down after that. He nervously checked the transformation bracer and noticed it still needed a few more hours to recharge. He looked at the bed and knew he wasn't going back to sleep.
"Masssterrr, perrrrhapsss a glace of waterrrr?" Hrissa suggested and Drask nodded and started walking. He poked his head outside his bedroom door and looked around. To him it was incredibly bright but most people would say it was a little dim. He walked into the kitchen and opened the fridge.
"Gack!" he exclaimed blinded by it's light and staggered back before casting a simple darkness spell so that it was inky dark inside it. "Better." he said pulling out a pitcher of cool filtered water and set it on the counter before closing the fridge and clambering up onto the counter and opening a cupboard.
"How ya doing?" Haruka asked grabbing his sides from behind getting a scream of shock. "Oww, wow. Sorry." she said starting to dig into one of her ears to clear out the ringing. He was backed up against the counter and staring at her while panting. Michiru closely followed by Ranko then Hotaru rushed in to see who'd been murdered.
"Haruka what did you do to the poor boy?" Michiru asked raising and eyebrow.
"Nothing bad I just gave him a small scare..." she said.
"He looks ready to faint for Pete's sake!" Michiru exclaimed and Haruka blushed.
"Alright look I'm sor...EAK!" Haruka said reaching a hound out to Drask and narrowly avoiding getting bitten by a very pissed of familiar.
"Sssstay away!" Hrissa... hissed at her before retreating back into a tattoo on Drask's skin again as he slowly started to calm down. He climbed down off the counter and ran back to his locking the door behind him and sliding down the door to calm down. "Arrrre you alrrrright masssterrr?" Hrissa asked in a worried tone.
"No, I just keep getting scared. I'm just a cowered I can't be a prince." he said hugging his knees.
"Courrrage isss only on virrrtue masssterrr. Furrrtherrrmorrre you sssshowed a grrreat deal of courrrage yesssterrrday." Hrissa said in a comforting tone now nuzzling his cheek a little.
"But that was just the bracer taking away my fear. I wasn't brave it was just that thing." Drask countered depressed.
"No. It wasss all ssstill therrre but you chossse to ssstay and fight. That isss courrrage." Hrissa insisted.
"I hope you're right. If not then... I don't know what'll happen." Drask said his legs unfolding and he leaned more on the door.
"I know I am masssterrr."
