“This is Setsuna, target point confirmed; approaching Kamine Island.”
”Are their enemy forces as expect?”
“I’ve confirmed four Knightmares standing guard near the entrance to a cave, with four more using camouflage tarps; two of which are equipped with sniper gear.” Setsuna replies as he changes his camera to thermal sensor mode to pick up the hidden Knightmares.
”Are you certain you don’t see any other enemy units Setsuna?”
The Meister checks the island with another sweep. “Aside from the Knightmare’s there is a moored supply ship. It may contain more Knightmares given the hold design and the crane type on the main deck; also there are 100mm turret cannons mounted on the stern and some anti-air flak guns on the bow, port, and starboard sides. Nothing Exia can’t handle.”
”Any chance you can see what they’re up too by scanning?””
“Negative, whatever they’re guarding is inside that cave. During my first sweep of the island I noticed they built a structure over the top of the mountainous hill above the cave that seems to have an aerial entranceway that can open for Knightmares and allow helicopter drops. It seems large enough I could squeeze Exia in.”
Sumeragi’s visage on his monitor closes her eyes for a moment in thought before they open again and she speaks. ”Alright Setsuna you have the go, take out the sentries, find out what they’re doing and then bug out before they send reinforcements.”
With a nod of acknowledgement the Meister of Gundam Exia replies. “Roger that, this is Exia; moving in to eliminate the targets.”
Adjusting the mobile suits pitch he angles Exia to fly in a tight circle around the target area. Aiming the GN sword/rifle Kai he fires two precise beam shots at the cargo ship, once to the stern, piercing into the engine room, and once more to the bow to speed up the flooding needed to sink the vessel. By now his attacks had alerted the Knightmare’s to his presence; two more shots from his rifle sent two of them that were part of the four guarding the cave entrance to the scrap heap. The other two Knightmare’s had wisely moved away upon seeing their comrades get blown away, alas it did them little good as Exia was swifter. While targeting one of the Knightmare’s with the GN rifle, Exia lifts its left arm firing a volley from its GN Vulcan cannon mounted inside the wrist, destroying both units as they take direct hits.
”S-son of a bitch it’s the Gundam!”
”Why? Why is that accused thing here? How di-“ The pilot of one of the camouflage covered Knightmare’s never got to finish his sentence as his entire Knightmare was cleaved in half by Exia’s GN sword.
”Shit, all units ditch camouflage and attack he can detect us!”
”But how?! R&D said those tarps would even mask thermal signatures!”
“Argue the how’s later stop it! Stop the Gundam!!”
Exia holds up its GN sword to deflect the incoming sniper rounds as the enemy Knightmare’s began a fall back while firing formation. Engaging the GN drive the Gundam hovers into the air towards the Knightmare’s holding it’s sword aloft for the killing blow. Increasing speed, Exia flies on, cleaving the three remaining Knightmare’s down the center, destroying them all quickly.
“Targets eliminated, Exia proceeding with mission.” Setsuna guides Exia back up atop of the large hill where the cave sat. Not detecting a sensor he could use the finger-ID laser most mobile suits used to open airlocks in space on the hatchway he opted for the next best type of opening mechanism.
The good old reliable beam saber; taking the saber mounted on its left hip holster, Setsuna ignites the beam blade, stabbing into the metal door and moves Exia carefully in a circle around the circular entryway until it fell through by law of gravity once a perfect circle cut was made around its hinges. Exia then begins its descent into the opening, it was a very tight fit but somehow the Gundam managed to lower itself in. However Setsuna had to lower Exia into a kneeling posture just to get the entirety of Exia within the cavern. Aside from obvious signs of man-made excavation, the only thing that struck him as note worthy was what looked like some sort of… wall or doorway of a stone-like material with an odd symbol etched into it.
Studying the symbol Setsuna makes sure the data recorder is active so he can send the data later to the Ptolemaios. “Unless something had been here and it has already been moved, I don’t see the strategic importance of this site.” His eyes then focus on the wall and its symbol. “Unless there’s more to that wall than meets the eye,” Carefully he has Exia reach out with its left hand touching the symbol on the wall. Suddenly the GN Drive flares into overdrive. The burst-mode and the Trans-Am system start to go active as the door starts to resonate with the Gundam.
With his eyes wide and glowing yellow Setsuna feels a rush of sensations flood him as the energy from the symbol and the GN particles seem to intermingle. “A-a voice, I can hear a voice, no multiple voices but one over all is the loudest…”
Everything started to go white as his Innovator Quantum Brainwaves started to link with the flow of consciousness reaching out to him.
”Who…are you?”
Ashford Academy.
“Hello everyone my name is Suzaku Kururugi, and I’ll be returning to classes here at Ashford Academy starting today. I look forward to studying here.” Spoke Suzaku before the first period classes earning him stunned stares from all present.
Especially one Lelouch Lamperouge who barely kept himself from looking like he was ready to bolt for the hills.
Suzaku Kururugi?!
“The guy who caught Zero?”
“The White Death is coming to school here?”
“He’s the Knight of Seven!”
“But he’s an Eleven—“
“Who cares?! He reports directly to the Emperor himself!”
Suzaku could hear the idle gossip with his trained ears, but paid it no mind.
Clapping her hands Villeta Nu gets the class to quiet down. “Okay everyone settle down, Sir Kururugi has been reassigned to Area 11 and so he’ll be coming back to finish school here.” She then turns to Suzaku while pointing to an empty desk. “Why don’t you do sit by Lelouch for now?”
“Yes ma’am.”
Lelouch’s clenched fist unclenches, yet should he be surprised they’d sit Suzaku next to him? He looks up as his former friend and potentially greatest enemy aside from the Emperor approaches him.
” Suzaku… you were my first true friend.”
But the war tore us apart.
“I, who was abandoned by my homeland…”
I, who was forced to abandon my homeland…
“When we were reunited, we were enemies and yet also allies.”
While I am Japanese I am also a Britannian soldier.
“I am Zero, we both hid our true identities from each other. “
We fought each other.
“However, those are memories of what truly happened.”
The Emperor rewrote three things in Lelouch’s memory.
“My sister Nunnally…”
Any of his memories concerning Zero…
“…And that I was a Britannian Prince.”
And so the two of us now…
”And so the two of us now…”
After a moment of silence staring at each other Lelouch broke the ice. “Hey welcome back Suzaku, it’s been quite awhile.”
Suzaku in turn smiles back as he says. “Well I missed everyone a lot so when the opportunity to enroll again came up I took it.”
Getting up from her seat Shirley smiles at Suzaku while saying, “Lulu’s right it feels like it’s been ages!?
Rivalz who’d also gotten up to say hi as well, launches himself against Suzaku’s back. Latching an arm around the Knight of Seven’s shoulder, “Boy o’ boy you really have come up in the world haven’t you Suzaku?”
As if to just add to the commotion the door to the class opens up revealing Milly. “I heard Suzaku’s back!”
Turning to face the doorway; Lelouch with his usual apathetic smile states to Milly. “Madame president, class is in session!”
“Oh whatever Lelouch!”
While he kept a smile on the surface Lelouch boiled inside. ”This will make things harder. Now I have to fool Suzaku on top of the surveillance detail spying on me. However I won’t be deterred my old friend.”
Off the coast of the European Universe.
Coasting along the coastline Allelujah checked Arios’s instruments to check his position. “So far so good, this route I’ve used isn’t being heavily air-traveled. Hmm let’s see if this coordinate is right my ETA ought to be within the next five minutes.”
Moments like these he relished. Just him, and the skies the only thing missing was Marie.
He didn’t have long to dwell on pleasant thoughts as his sensors detected combat flashing an update on his main HUD. “Damn, it seems there’s a skirmish along the coast about five miles down.” He cycles the camera data trying to identify the two forces. “The sea and air force is Britannian while the ground forces are part of this nation’s army.” He grimaces as his monitor picked up a few of the defending armies machines getting blown up.
Well Allelujah you just going to keep flying and watch?!
“Hallelujah… I’m supposed to be on recon.”
Your’ mission parameters also state at your discretion you can perform an intervention. C’mon you saw the data Feldt and Mileina collected! These guys are losing big time! So show em’ what a Gundam with a super soldier Meister at the helm can do!
“Hallelujah… there’s no arguing with you, especially considering deep down I want to stop this.”
Atta’boy now go give em’ a spank!
“Allelujah Haptism, Arios Gundam; preparing armed intervention against Britannian forces!”
