Given Genma's obsession with creating the perfect martial artist, it was not too surprising that he decided to use _all_ of the DNA samples he had... acquired. What was surprising was that he actually managed to do so successfully. The only reason it worked out was that all the creatures in question were partially of divine/demonic origin to begin with, including the new gods of the Internet.
It is a little-known fact that divine DNA is particularly suited to combining with human DNA. One might guess this from all the legends of demi-gods out there, but noone knows the reason for this (except for Kami-sama, and he isn't telling).
That is why Genma's poorly-thought-out experiment succeeded, but he could not have known that. Yes, Genma managed to fuse all of the samples with his and Nodoka's DNA. But no, he couldn't aticipate the results...
