Code 00 with a side of Geass: Welcome to the Nightmare [Episode 229526]

by Yasanagi

With his gun module in place and the targeting camera active, Lockon directed the barrel of his GN Sniper Rifle towards the dark grey unit that seemed to have a pair of blaster ends for hands and fired the first shot. It flew towards the enemy but was intercepted by another energy blast, red in colour. "Hm?" His camera tracked the source of the energy blast and settled on a purple unit that had a large cannon in front of it, reminding him of Tieria's Seravee Gundam.

"Nice save, Anya!" shouted Nonette from within her cockpit as she fired a few shots from her hadron guns towards the green Gundam. Even though they landed squarely on the enemy, it hardly seemed phased by the impact. "Che...! How strong is this thing's armour?!" She immediately switched tactics and fired some of her missiles from the chest and leg launchers.

'It's most likely a heavy assault unit. High defense and firepower at the cost of speed.' He didn't have too much time to ponder about things as he found himself under attack by the Britannian forces who wielded various long range weapons and assault rifles. Not that it would do that much damage to his armour but he couldn't really waste too much of his time here. "Haro! Release the bits!" shouted Lockon as he fired a shot from his rifle to intercept the missiles fired from the dark grey unit.

"Warning! Warning! Only four bits available!" chirped Haro as it automatically adjusted propulsion to avoid the blast fired by the purple unit and the attack fired from the energy cannon of the white, blue and yellow unit.

'Right... we only managed to get a certain amount of repairs done for Cherudim before I went out to investigate this world.' He would have to make arrangements for a full restoration of Cherudim's Bit Systems on board the Celestial Being which was orbiting the Earth. In whatever case, they should be good enough to cause major panic among the Britannian forces and allow him some room to clear out their larger vessels. "Four will be enough! Send them towards the enemy reinforcements and shoot them down!"

"Shield Bits released! Shield Bits released!" In an instant, four pieces of the Cherudim's green armour flew off with two coming from the left shoulder and the other two coming from each leg before heading towards the multiple Sutherland and Gloucester squadrons. Within fifteen seconds of releasing the bits, formations had broken quickly and panic had spread among all of the Britannian pilots as they kept getting attacked by beams that were coming out of nowhere.

"My God..." Gino's eyes barely caught the movements of those... things that the green Gundam released. As far as he could tell, only four of them did that much damage to their ranks. 'What would have happened if that guy sent out more of those things?!' He tried to get himself focused again and spotted Nonette's Gareth signalling with a few arm gestures to try and flank the enemy. Both he and Nonette got into attack formation while Anya provided cover fire with her Mordred. The green Gundam didn't seem to care as it moved onward towards the floating recon carrier while firing eight missiles from its front hip armour.

Nonette and Anya immediately countered by launching missiles from their own units, causing them to collide with the enemy's attack, consequently creating a shockwave that temporarily knocked the three Knightmare Frames off balance. The Tristan and the Gareth slammed against each other from the sheer force of the collision of the missiles while the Mordred managed to stabilize itself and recover first. However the Knight of Six saw the green Gundam preparing one final shot with its rifle.

"Gotcha..." Lockon pulled the trigger on his gun module to go for the finishing blow but the purple unit moved in front and emitted a green forcefield. "What the...?"

"Blaze Luminous activate. Full spread," muttered Anya in a quiet tone as she fed more power to the shield to protect herself and her fellow comrades. As soon as the pink beam of energy hit the forcefield, the sheer force from the impact caused the three of them to fly backwards a great distance.

'A GN Field? Not quite... but similar enough to save those three from my last shot.' Judging by the blinking eyes of his partner, Haro must have recorded that to its memory banks since it would be something of interest to the rest of his crew. "Let's finish cleaning up here..." Next targets, the three battleships, that floating carrier and then on to the island to find Exia.

Elsewhere, the Ptolemaios finally got visual contact with their comrade who had left for the EU earlier. "This is Allelujah reporting in! Sorry for taking longer than expected."

"Was there a problem with your Gundam's acceleration speed?" asked Sumeragi from her seat on the bridge. She knew that a round trip along with an intervention shouldn't have lasted into the afternoon since Arios had been launched at 0700 hours.

"Just a little. There's a slight lag in my accelerator that I felt the minute I finished doing a few more interventions against Britannian forces in the EU's territory. That's why it took me a bit longer to get back here."

"We'll get Mileina and Ian to go over it later. You're still capable of combat operations?"

"Affirmative. I already got updated by Tieria on the situation so I'll be heading to the island to assist Lockon in retrieving Setsuna."

"Just a moment." Sumeragi nodded towards Lasse who then sent an electronic map file over to Arios. "We'll going to rendez-vous at these coordinates once you complete your mission. The location is practically free of Britannian influence so we'll be able to rest there for a bit."

"Australia, huh? Roger that."

"Allelujah, please hurry! I..." Feldt paused to correct herself. "... we're all a bit worried about Setsuna since he hasn't reported in since this morning."

"I'm on it, Feldt." The communication channel quickly disconnected as Allelujah prepared to head off.

"Fufufufu..." A strange chuckle was heard from Mileina as she directed the mischievious grin on her face towards Feldt. "My maiden's intuition is telling me that you are VERY worried about his well-being..."

"Mileina!!" The bridge then descended into a chorus of teasing from Mileina, protests from Feldt, some light laughter from Sumeragi and a small groan from Lasse.

At least, Alice and Marie were elsewhere on the ship on housekeeping duty. Who knew how they would have reacted to this latest turn of events. 'Women...'

On the island, the Knight of Seven was trying to radio in for more backup while the last line of defense, the small squadron of Vincent Wards that had accompanied Nonette, tried to hold off the Gundam from approaching. Even after it had easily dispatched of the remaining battleships and the recon carrier, they still charged forward to prevent it from reaching the island. However, they were soon torn apart by the same four pieces of armour that had utterly devastated the Sutherlands and Gloucesters just moments before, forcing the cockpits to eject from their units. 'Come on, dammit! Work!!' He was trying everything he could to get help but the particles of the green Gundam were jamming up his ability to communicate with other military bases.

"It's coming!!" shouted MacTavish, trying to keep the panic out of his tone.

"Prepare to evacuate the landing team inside!" It wasn't the order he wanted to give but he would rather have those men escape alive with whatever data they have in their possession rather than the alternative.

"Yes, my Lord!" While MacTavish ran off, Suzaku could feel the Geass order in his head begin to stir and forced himself not to succumb to the impulse to flee in his craft.

Before he could think of what he could really do in this situation, he heard the sound of incoming weapons fire and turned to see the Knightmare Frames of his fellow Knights charging towards the Gundam again. The only visible damage was a chunk of yellow armour missing on the top of the Mordred's head. Although he was relieved that they were still alive and well, the thought of them going up against the Gundam by themselves didn't sit too well with him.
