"Please, let me finish what I have to say, then ask questions afterwards," said Hinata, looking him with an unusual directness.
"Oh?" asked the Third, thinking there was something off about the Hyuga girl. Lots of somethings actually.
"I am indeed Hinata Hyuga," said the twelve year old, "however I remember the next fourteen years as I lived through them. If you remain here, you'll avoid running into Naruto - who is currently talking to Mizuki not far from here. Mizuki will have Naruto steal a scroll of secret techniques from a storage room here. Naruto will do this and try to learn a technique from that scroll as proof he should be allowed to graduate. Mizuki will then try to claim the scroll from Naruto and go to Orochimaru with those techniques as proof he should be allowed to study those."
The Third Hokage nodded thoughtfully, wondering if the girl had had a bad dream.
'"Orochimaru will return to this village in seven months during the chuunin exams," continued Hinata. "He will be disguised as the Kazekage, and switch that disguise off with one of the genin applicants in order to begin the recruitment of Sasuke Uchiha."
This caused the Third Hokage to stir a bit more, as this girl should have no way of knowing about that. The letters to coordinate the event had just been sent a week ago and details were still to be tied down. Yet that was the approximate time set aside.
"If things go as they did the first time," continued Hinata, "you will be killed as a result of Orochimaru using a forbidden jutsu to resurrect the First and Second Hokage and use them as pawns to attack you. You end up using a Dead Demon Consuming Seal to try and stop Orochimaru's conquest of the village, as well as put the First and Second Hokage to rest."
Sarutobi Hiruzen stared, his jaw slightly parted, as he realized that this was NOT likely a young girl's nightmare. Unless it was a prescient one - knowledge of that particular technique was not common at all.
"There's more," said Hinata. "I will tell you the rest later. By now, Naruto has already stolen the scroll. I believe I know where he has gone, and I will be there for him to witness when he beats Mizuki using the Shadow Clone jutsu."
She was hanging back and listening mostly. She didn't want to interfere immediately. From what she'd heard from Iruka much later, this was a defining moment for Naruto. What she WANTED to do was leap in and defend him. She also wanted to bend him over a horizontal surface with a first-rate tonsil cleaning using one of the courtesan techniques she'd been forced to learn. She hadn't done that. It would be hard to content herself with a kiss on the cheek, but considering their current ages that was as far as things COULD go.
Hinata considered the ideal time to intervene would be AFTER everything was said and done. She was just there as a witness.
The other observer, someone the Hokage had sent to catch up with her, made a slight startled noise as the clearing was abruptly full of shadow clones.
"That's one of his problems," said Hinata quietly to the ANBU operative with the cat-mask and the sword. "He can't do the simple jutsu because he's got too much chakra and there's red chakra that destabilizes his blue chakra at odd times."
The ANBU operative was apparently a little surprised at the genin speaking with such authority on the matter.
"He's finished," said Hinata, turning from the battle scene. "I'll meet him at Ichiraku. You can tell the Hokage that if he needs further answers, that's where I'll be."
