"Ahh." Lelouch murmured, wondering just where his infamous eloquence under pressure had gone.
"Are you supposed to be a Teammate of mine, Kururugi-san?"
"I think so!" The girl chuckled.
"They're supposed to be five people in all, according to Sentry-san."
"...Sentry-san." Lelouch murmured.
"Oh, yes, I haven't introduced you to him yet - Or maybe he's a her? Are you a her, Sentry-san?"
"I do not have any gender or gender identification, Nana, so I am neither."
Lelouch blinked at the mechanical voice coming out of nowhere.
"An AI?" Well, that did make sense...
"Sentry-san is a robot I think, except that he doesn't really have a robot body! Is that what 'AI' means? He's supposed to look after all of us and help us get through our Missions - Right, Sentry-san?“
Missions. Lelouch blinked yet again - He could almost hear the capitalizations.
"Essentially correct, Nana. Welcome to Outpost Detonation Key Seven, Lelouch. The Alliance welcomes you."
The Alliance. Hmmm. Lelouch took several seconds to think about this.
"By the Alliance, you mean - Our Sponsors?"
"The Alliance a significant faction among our Sponsors, but not the only one by any means, Lelouch."
"I see." Lelouch murmured, making a note to himself to check out as much as he could about this 'Alliance' as soon as possible.
"Thank you."
"You are welcome, Lelouch."
The mechanical voice intoned, and then spoke no more.
"Bye-bye, Sentry-san!"
Nana giggled, and then turned toward Lelouch, whispering.
"Actually, I think he can hear anything that goes on in the base, but he pretends not too, because 'humans need the illusion of privacy', he says. He's sweet, I think!"
Well, that was not all that surprising, all things considered, but...
"So he is." Lelouch said, wondering if there were some clean clothes nearby. He didn't want to spend more time then he had to wearing a replica of the clothes he had, well, died in, quite frankly...
"But anyway, you want some clean stuff to wear first, right? Don't worry - It's not just the food, there's just so much clothes here, too, loads and loads of them! And now - Hey, look at that, there's a new door right over there..."
Lelouch looked where she was pointing. A new door?
"Is that your name on it? If it is, it's yours."
Lelouch read the name twice to make sure he'd gotten it right.
Lelouch Lamperouge
Very well, then - It didn't look like Lelouch vi Brittania was going to be needed here, anyway.
"Yes, that's my name - Thank you."
But wait - the girl couldn't read?
Or at the very least, she couldn't read Modern Brittanian...
"Nana-san?" Lelouch said, the words coming out of him before he had any time to reconsider.
"Did you ever have a different name before - Kururugi Nana?"
The girl looked at him for a timeless moment, and then smiled very sadly.
"I don't remember it too well, but - I was called Rowena, once."
So she was a female version of Rolo, then. Maybe. Perhaps.
Well, he'd just have to make sure that he took better care of this one then he had of - his Rolo, eh?
Lelouch smiled at Nana, and went into his room to change.
