"But if either of us wishes, we'll get sucked into the lamp, letting Happosai go.", Ranma pointed out the now obvious.
"But Happosai is COMPLETELY subservient to guys now. I know. I really let him have it when I fulfilled his wish.", Nabiki replied. "The Only impact making a wish can have on the genie of the lamp is to release the genie when a person makes another wish. Happosai will be let out, but you can stop 'her' in her tracks by simply shouting 'Happosai, Freeze!'. Now she'll even help you tie herself up if you ask. You could even get really kinky with her.", Nabiki continued, smirking at Ranma's discomfort as the meaning of her last sentence started to penetrate.
"We can take turns wishing and rescuing the other from the lamp. With a simple partnership, we could have an unending supply of wishes!", Nabiki asserted.
Nabiki pressed on, "You're such an improbable trouble magnet that no one gives you credit, but I know you are a man of your word, Ranma. You know that I keep the letter of my word as well." She paused to let that sink in.
Ranma just had to respond. "You'll follow the letter of your word alright, but you'll still take advantage of me somehow, Nabiki. Every time I get roped into a deal with you, that's what happens. Besides, while we could possibly get several wishes each by trading places, from my earlier wish about knowing how to escape past and future curses, I know the lamp would eventually become annoyed at such abuse and make us sorry we were so clever."
"Ah, but partnership is a different relationship than 'sucker/predator' like you're used to. We'd be interpreting each other's wishes, and things could really get bad if we didn't treat each other fairly.", Nabiki acknowledged. "As partners, I promise, I'd bend over backwards to treat you fairly. Anyway, How many wishes could we get away with do you think?"
Ranma screwed up his face as he mentally groped his way through unfamiliar newfound knowledge. "Three more each.", he finally announced.
"I'll even use one of my wishes to relieve those suffering from Happosai's wishes.", Nabiki offered. "That'll leave you three selfish wishes to my two."
"Yea, but with my luck, by the time I handle all the consequences like I always do, I'll barely manage to get anything I want out of the deal.", Ranma groused.
"Ranma, we can help those poor victims of Happosai's wishes. We can fulfill each other's wishes. You'll have my wholehearted help. We both can come out ahead. Please. For me.", Nabiki plaintively asked.
The expectant pause deepened. Nabiki painted a hint of emotional injury on her face. The pause deepened some more.
"Aaaagh. Ok. I just know I'm gonna be sorry though. Magic is trouble.", Ranma protested in capitulation.
"Partners it is!" In a rare uncalculated and unguarded moment, Nabiki gratefully hugged Ranma.
Nabiki and Ranma realized embarrassment at the same instant, and snapped apart.
"Um. I know someone who would be grateful to dissapear for a while. She'd think I was doing her a huge favor. We'll get her to make two wishes after we've each had all we dare.", Nabiki sidetracked. "Help me to my room, I'll get dressed, and we'll make our wishes."
*** Meanwhile, minutes on our world pass as days in the land of the djinn. ***
Happosai stewed. If she tried, she could sense what was going on around the lamp. What they were planning was even more infuriating than being bound in the land of the djinn, and chained in subservience inside a sexually demanding wet dream of a female body. Revenge boiled in Happosai's blood. His long life had tempered an iron will when it came to vengeance. When Nabiki made a wish, Happosai would twist his revenge into it.
