Gendo's hands flew along the console's controls, trying to run damage control.
CRAK! went another section of the same tube.
The Rei inside the glass tube was now so pale she almost seemed to glow within the lights. She was also filling the tube, despite being folded up in a fetal position.
SNAP! went another section of tube.
The lights went out.
"Was that supposed to happen?" asked Hiroto as emergency lights cut on.
Gendo Ikari was normally calm and controlled. Not a hair out of place. He said something atypical for himself.
Hiroto shrugged. "I think I'll show myself out, if you don't mind."
Gendo was already running for an exit.
"Oh," said Hiroto as he took that detail in.
CRASH! tinkle
When she left the tube, she stood at well over three meters in height.
When she left the lab, she was approaching four meters in height.
When she pounded her way through the roof and then into the empty warehouse overhead, she over six meters in height. By the time she tore out the corrugated metal side of the warehouse and stepped into the street, she was eight meters tall. Or, if one prefers, a little over twenty six feet in height.
A giant naked young teenage girl ripping open a building with her bare hands in order to stride out onto a busy Japanese street attracted some attention.
It was also quickly obvious that she was still growing.
"So here we are," said Genma to Ranma. "My old friend Soun Tendo lives here alone since the death of his wife. At least that's what I think is going on, I haven't heard from him for ten years and only spoke briefly to him on the phone to let him know we were coming."
"Huh," said Ranma.
