As they ate around the campfire, Lina noticed that Sirius was not eating as much as the rest of them. In fact, he had eaten less than anyone else. Zel had a tremendous appetite for a young man of his age. She pondered the meaning of life while she ate, and came up with 49.
Picking up the Bow of Light, she examined it, the faint runes etched on the unknown metal betraying it's powerful difference from a real bow. "A couple more days till Seyruun," she muttered.
"Eh? Say Lina," Naga put in. "Can I see that?"
"I think not!" Lina argued adamantly.
"One peek?" Naga whined. "It can't be that bad."
"Absolutely not! Besides..." Lina focused an expression of lust. "It's my precious..."
"Lina, you're freaking me out." Naga deadpanned.
Lina chuckled as she pondered. 'The Darkstar weapons. Who knows who is coming for them. I've stopped Shabranigdo's rebirth, but what else could come our way? We won't know until we reunite with Amelia.' Obviously, all this is changing the past, who knows what will happen. 'Naga.... I would never suspected her to be a former princess.... or even so... Seyruun's missing princess. Amelia's going to flip seeing her.... well Phil as well.' Lina peered into the dying fire. 'Rezo... or really, Rezo-Shabranigdo is not going to give up, even he now knows that I and a Shinzoku are now with Zel. He's going to get someone more dangerous than those bounty hunters and werebeasts to go after us. It wouldn't surprise me if a Mazoku was sent on our tail.' The Mazoku race she felt was the big wild card in this journey. 'I wouldn't suspect some of the five lords getting involved so early.... but with the talismans in my hands....' She stopped at that thought. As much as she hated the thought, she needed the aid of a powerful Mazoku to help cast the spell.
"Lina?"
"Hmmm... what now Naga?"
"After you recruit my sister, what happens next?"
Lian thought for a moment. "Well, we'll have to find a way to break through the Mazoku's barrier. There's a dimensional gate built where Celphied and Shabranigdo battled. We need to get there so we can confront Darkstar."
"But Lina," Naga interjected, "how do you intend to get through the barrier? No one besides powerful Mazoku and go through it?"
"Hopefully the five weapons will be powerful enough to breech the barrier long enough for us to go through. If not....." Lina answered, become more solem. "I'll have to do the same thing I did last time... something I want totally avoid at all cost."
"Lina.... whatever happened to the carefree sorceress who didn't care what happened?"
"I grew up Naga. Having to continuely face the wrath of powerful Mazoku can do things like that." With that Lina yawned. "Well... I'm beat. Better get some sleep. We have another day's worth journey before we reach your home."
Naga just nodded, seeing that Lina was not going to talk more on the subject.
With that, Lina Inverse, future avatar to the Lord of Nightmares, fell asleep.
