"Hina-hime! Long time no see!" Naruko declared as she hugged the only fan in the room with her, much to Hinata's embarrassment as several of the boys watched.
Now, the girls knew better, a girl calling another girl, or anything else, a "cutie" was hardly definitive proof of any sort of relationship status. But several of the boys, having expected (possibly hoped) the new blonde to sit next to one of them, felt their cheeks rising and blood vessels in their noses threatening to burst at the display.
And then Naruko plopped down in the seat next to Hinata and gave her a proud thumbs up.
As for herself, Naruko was twelve, which meant that she was just barely coming into any sort of sexuality. She knew from occasions where she'd overheard things at one of the places her godfather got missions that some girls Liked girls, but wasn't sure yet if that was her or not.
Some part of her seemed rather strong on the whole "like girls" matter, and that was part of the confusion.
Still, she liked Hinata and actually knew the quiet purple haired girl. If she Liked Hinata later, well that was fine too. She did like Hinata a lot.
"Well, Father has noted that it is a busy time, Naruko-chan," Hinata said flushing as the always exuberant girl sat down next to her. "And all the bodyguards..."
"Yeah, yeah, you can't go off on your own," the blonde noted, nodding. "I get it, oh well, from now on I'll be living here for a while and we'll be able to do everything together! Like..."
And she wrapped an arm around Hinata's shoulder and spread the other hand out wide dramatically.
"...slumber parties!"
Again, several of the guys started either sputtering or snickering at the images this produced and the girls mostly shrugged it off. At least until they noticed Hinata's reddening expression followed by her fainting in Naruko's arms.
That wasn't typical behavior for an average girl presented with the idea of a slumber party with another girl.
"Huh? Hina-Hime?" Naruko said. "Ooops, did it again."
