The next day...
"Ranma Saotome, prepare to DIE!!!"
Ranma was briefly annoyed that Ryouga had decided to attack BEFORE school instead of the usual AFTER, but let it drop as he focused on the fight.
"What crawled up your butt this time, piggie?"
The fanged martial artist sneered. "I don't have to explain myself to you, Ranma!"
The fight lasted a bit longer than usual. It seemed Ryouga was in rare form today. Gradually, the battle made its way outside the Furinkan High courtyard and into a park.
The tone of the fight changed, however, when Ranma was - for once - the one knocked into a fountain, while Ryouga remained completely dry.
Ryouga was shocked. 'Ranma didn't change!' he thought. 'He must've found a cure! I have to find out how!'
"Ranma! How did you find a cure? Give it to me!"
Ranma, contrary to popular belief, was not an idiot. When his curse had been altered the previous night, he had made a smart choice and asked Nabiki what she knew about Were-creatures. For a price, she gave him the information.
Nabiki was into manga, as those who hung around her knew. She had a slight preference for shoujo manga, but was also a fan of sword-and-magic types, like "Slayers" or - her favorite - "Record of Lodoss War". Lodoss was based on the original Dungeons and Dragons, and thus held some clues about were-creatures. Such as the bit about werehood being spread by the scratch or bite of one afflicted.
"You want the cure, P-chan?" Ranma said with a smirk, as he advanced on her opponent. Why not check and see how accurate some of that information was? "Alright, I'll give it to you."
And then he lunged at Ryouga, delivering a bite to the hand that had formerly pointed a demanding finger.
Ryouga pulled his hand away from the Saotome boy's mouth. "OW! What the hell was that for?! Have you gone insane?!"
Ranma didn't say a word. He just jumped back into the fountain and splashed a huge amount of water at his rival.
