Sasuke Uchiha knew there was a room in the Hokage Tower that had a scroll of powerful jutsu. He knew that he needed to be stronger in order to face That Man. Really, the result should be obvious.
Sasuke Uchiha distracted an ANBU with a quick bunshin, did a substitution with a roll of carpet, and snuck into the room. Unfortunately there were LOTS of scrolls, a few boxes, and a case marked 'Do Not Open' in friendly red lettering.
Naturally, he thought the case was the most promising, and then escaped the tower to read it.
That he had managed to get spotted on the way out was a bit of a let down, but he managed to get away and find a quiet room where he could open the scroll.
Oddly enough, the first part was just some blah-blah-blah warnings. Then there was something like a summoning seal?
Biting one finger, Sasuke drew a line in the circle in his blood, his eyes focussed mainly on the promise of power buried among the warnings.
The ANBU descended on that room when there had been a scream.
Unfortunately, by the time they caught up, the screaming girl had gone through almost a quarter of Konoha.
Hiruzen Sarutobi glanced around at the ANBU, privately making a little mental note to have the guards checked. If they were THAT easy to sneak past, there were some serious concerns about security that needed to be addressed.
Yes - the culprit WAS an Uchiha and the boy had been a prodigy. Not as much as his brother, but still a prodigy. An eleven year old who hadn't managed to graduate from the Academy yet defeating and evading what was supposed to be elite ANBU operatives? No, that wasn't acceptable.
"He opened the scroll, he made the deal," said an ANBU.
"Yes, I can see that," said Sarutobi as he regarded the girl wearing Sasuke's clothes. Her hair was longer and out of the style that HE had used, eyes a little larger and framed by longer dark lashes, her expression still registering shock.
"I just wanted to get stronger," mumbled the girl, in a voice that also sounded different from the boy she'd been.
"The news of this has apparently gotten out among the village," said one ANBU.
"That she was screaming things like 'why did I turn into a girl?!' and 'I'm Sasuke Uchiha damnit!' and other similar sentiments as she ran through town didn't help," said another ANBU.
"Excuse number twelve?" asked an ANBU.
"Actually accurate in this case," noted the Hokage approvingly. "Kinjutsu gone wrong. Approved. Put out the word this is considered an S-Class secret and was a one-in-a-million chance."
"Yes, Hokage-sama," said an ANBU as she vanished.
"Well, Sasuke," said the Hokage as he looked over the distraught young woman. "You wanted to get stronger, avenge your clan, and then resurrect your clan..."
Sasuke's head snapped up and she stared at the Hokage for a moment as she considered the full implications of that.
Sasuke then did something that would have surprised any number of people who had known the Last Uchiha. Which was for her eyes to roll up in her head and fall over in a dead faint.
"I don't think additional punishment is going to be necessary for Sasuke," said the Hokage. "Since the transformation is permanent though, I suspect some classes are going to have to be scheduled. See if Suzume is available."
"What sort of classes?" asked a male ANBU, sounding as if he didn't even want to think about it.
"Female hygiene, makeup, dressing, manners," said the Hokage, an evil gleam in his eyes.
"That's cruel," said the ANBU.
"But necessary," said the Hokage. "Besides, you want to see cruel? Just wait till I have time to reflect on what to do about those who allowed an eleven year old Academy student to sneak into this tower and steal from what is supposedly a guarded room."
There were several ANBU who suddenly shivered as if feeling a Doom looming up behind them.
Naruto stared at the image that Toltiir had created. All it showed was Sasuke walking in place, but it was a Sasuke who looked more feminine and with longer hair. She also looked a little older than the Sasuke he was familiar with.
"Yes," said Toltiir, either reading Naruto's mind or guessing the unspoken question. "Sasuke the Slayer is at a roughly thirteen year old physical development level."
"Oh man, he's gonna kill me if he ever finds out," said Naruto.
"As far as Sasuke is concerned, you taking the blame for it is patently ridiculuous since she chose to go for the power of the Slayer without you being anywhere near that decision," said Toltiir. "Her strength, speed, resistance to damage and hostile spells, and agility have increased."
"Damn, so Sasuke's better than me again!" said Naruto, seeing it as his first wish now being pre-empted by his second wish. Obviously this wishing stuff was complicated!
"In some ways, perhaps," allowed the cat-looking Being.
"Aw man," said Naruto, trying to figure out a fix. Not to mention that having accidently turned Sasuke into a girl made him feel awfully guilty. Even if nobody else knew - HE knew.
