"What the hell? This is my inner world?" Ranma couldn't believe what his eyes were showing him. A gigantic Gothic style monastery was towering in front of Ranma. He wasn't too surprised that his inner world was a monastery although his first guess had been a dojo. The design of the monastery was also a bit surprising, but Ranma wasn't about to let that get to him.
The young Shihoin promptly marched up to the monastery without a second thought. After all, his zanpakuto had to be inside the monastery right? As Ranma neared the monastery he noticed more an more things about it that just didn't make any sense. Why would a monastery need siege strength reinforced walls and dozens upon dozens of cannons? However, the real surprise came when Ranma arrived at the front gate. guarding the monastery's entrance were two suits of armor.
What really got to Ranma was the fact that these suits were unlike any type of armor he had ever seen before. The armor on display was bulky and painted blue with gold trimming. Furthermore, there were nicks and dings in both sets of armor showing that they had been in heavy combat.
Ranma was just about to examine one of sets more closely when the door to monastery opened. He quickly decided to enter and seek out his zanpakuto. The inside of the monastery was even more frightening and unnerving then its exterior. Everywhere Ranma looked he saw suits of the same type of armor on display. Some of armors were holding rocket launchers, others were armed with frightenly huge axes, and others had gauntlets with claws as long as Ranma's arm. Finally, some were armed with a weapon that looked like a cross between a sword and a chainsaw.
For what seemed like hours, Ranma wandered around in the monastery. What he saw inside made him wonder why his inner world was the headquarters for some sort of sci-fi/horror monastic battle order. Eventually, Ranma reached the inner sanctum of his inner world and came face to face with his zanpakuto.
The zanpakuto was sitting on a stone throne flanked by two suits of armor. His left eye had been replaced by an angry looking red eye. The armor he was wearing was massive, highly ornamented with gold, and simply radiated power. "So," the zanpakuto spoke with a voice that conveyed that he had seen unspeakable horrors and had defeated each horror in turn. "At last you've come here Ranma Shihoin. Do you dare to suppose you are worthy to wield me?"
Ranma glared at his sword's spirit and quickly shot back, "Are you stupid or something? Of course I'm worthy to wield you as you're a part of me! That's like asking someone if they're worthy to walk or to have their ears on their head. Just so you know, I'm not leaving here until I have your name and shikai. I need that power to protect ordinary people from hollows and myself from my mother's enemies in Soul Society to let you withhold it from me."
The zanpakuto slowly got off the throne and walked over to Ranma. Young Ranma quickly found himself face to face with his zanpakuto's belt buckle. He immediately looked up at the zanpakuto and shot out, "Is this supposed to intimidate me? I've fought opponents far more terrifying than you'll ever be!"
Without warning, the zanpakuto started to laugh. "You don't let fear rest in your heart do you? That's good, that's very good indeed. You may yet be worthy of my allegiance. For standing up to me like this I will let you try to hear my name. If you can, know that my name is-"
In the real world, Yoruichi watched as her son opened his eyes and grinned. Ranma quickly stood up and held his zanpakuto out in front of him. He then shouted out, "Know no fear, Marneus Calgar!" Instantly the katana styled zanpakuto shifted into a six-foot long chainsaw sword.
