Lamp Of Mihoshi - Shihoin Heir: Like a bee out of the battlefield [Episode 236209]

by HistorianoftheKais

Ranma Shihoin glanced around the battlefield trying to assess the situation. The shinigami forces had been routed and likely weren't going to rally any time soon. Ranma knew he had the power and skill to take out the remaining hollows. Yoruichi had made sure that her son had the skills to go toe to toe with the average vice-captain and that wasn't counting the skills Ranma had inherited from his past life. However, a single glance at Soifon told Ranma he had to retreat.

There was a fundamental difference between Ranma's two lives. Ranma Saotome had gotten into fights because of someone's stupidity and fought for the love of a challenge. Ranma Shihoin went into battle because it was necessary and fought to defend others. At the moment, that meant that the most important thing for Ranma was making sure that Soifon was safe. That wasn't about to happen if he fought the hollows. Sure he could cleanse all of them, but that would leave the exhausted captain wide open to become a snack.

With a sigh, the seemingly preteen rouge shinigami put Marneus Calgar on his back and reached down to pick up Soifon. The second squad's captain blinked her eyes in shock as she found herself being held bridal style in Ranma's arms. "What are you doing?" Soifon blurted out in shock and disbelief.

Ranma leaped into the air to avoid an attack by a hollow and shot back, "What does it look like you cute tomboy?! I'm saving your ass since your squad mates are too gutless to do it." The young Shihoin then started shunpoed off of the battlefield and into the forest. A few hollows tried to follow the duo, but endless games of tag with his mother insured that Ranma wasn't caught by those hungry souls.

The young noble with his anti-damsel in distress soon reached a small clearing almost a mile from the battlefield. Ranma leaped down from a tree branch onto the ground. He then gently set Soifon down on the ground and went to lean against a nearby tree. With his arms folded across his chest Ranma asked, "What the heck was going on back there? I take it that you and your squad mates are part of the Onmitsukido judging from your uniform so why the hell did your teammates leave you high and dry? Mom always said that the Onmitsukido never left a comrade behind. At least, that's how it was when she ran the group."

Soifon's eyes narrowed when she heard her mysterious savior say that. It only deepened the suspicion she had about just who she might be dealing with. Her anger at her subordinates cowardliness was placed on the back burner for the moment. Hell would be taking notes for its newest circle from the training she was going to put those cowards through.

However, the important thing for Soifon at the moment was to confirm the identity of the boy's mother. "Oh?" she asked in a surprisingly sweet and yet confronting tone, "And just who would you be? That's a pretty big claim for a boy, even a talented boy like you, to make. I wouldn't want my rescuer to get in trouble for making unfounded boasts."

Ranma just shrugged his shoulders and replied, "It's not an unfounded boast. The name's Ranma Shihoin and my mother's Yoruichi Shihoin. If you knew anything about your squad's history then you'd know that Mom used to be the leader of the Onmitsukido half a century ago. By the way, what's your name cute tomboy?"

A gleam shone in Soifon's eyes as she forced herself up into a sitting position. She then stated, "My name's Soifon, your mother's top student and the current leader of the Onmitsukido after she ran away!"
