The sun reflected off the roof of the prison van as it cruised down the highway towards its destination. The van was dull gray in color and had the words Department of Corrections written on the side in bold, black letters. The van was transporting recently sentenced female criminals to prison. A corrections officer was at the wheel and a few others were in the back compartment keeping an eye on the prisoners.
The prisoners were seated together along a bench on one side of the van's back comportment. As was standard procedure, they were all restrained for their journey to prison. Each of them had handcuffs locked around their wrists, legcuffs around their ankles and their handcuffs were also locked to a chain belt around each of their waists.
One of the prisoners was a young woman with short brown hair and brown eyes. She was dressed in a fancy looking business dress with heels, which she had worn at her trial. Unlike most of the other prisoners, who were crying silently to themselves or had expressions of shocked disbelief on their faces, this young woman had her head high and a defiant glare. This woman was Nabiki Tendo, the former ice queen of Nerima and recently convicted criminal.
Many people who knew Nabiki would never have believed the middle Tendo daughter would ever be in this position. She knew had to avoid getting caught up in all the chaos of Nerima, but still could reap many benefits from all the situations Ranma, her sister and all the other members of the Nerima Wrecking Crew got caught up in. She was obviously the most intelligent resident of the Tendo Dojo and had earned top marks in all her classes. She had graduated from Furinkan High School as the Valedictorian of her class and had started an undergraduate degree in Business Administration at the prestigious Tokyo University. Only months ago she had a bright future ahead of her.
Now, Nabiki Tendo was heading to prison.
