Ranma looked through the costumes and eventually found something she might like.
It was something of a pantsuit with a more rustic coloring more suited to wooded areas, it looked like nothing special but when she looked closer she could see that the clothing was very well stitched together and could stand up to a lot of punishment. It came with a pair of neutral grey boots, a non-descript ring and a hooded neutral gray cloak. Seeing nothing wrong with it she put it on.
To her she expected the change to be a bit more dramatic and felt a somewhat 'familiar' feeling as if her body changed, instinctively she looked down at her breasts noticing a number of things. Her fingers were longer and appear finely chiseled. Her breasts weren't as large and were not as cumbersome. Perhaps most importantly to her, she didn't have that feeling of lack of balance like she normally did in her cursed form, instead she felt as if she could balance on the tips of her toes all day.
She looked at the mirror and gasped "Wow!".
She saw someone in the mirror that had the same clothes on she just put on but she looked far different than she ever expected.
The girl looking back at her, had platinum hair done in a pigtail. A face that looked more angular and chiseled much like her fingers did earlier. This was when she put her fingers to the mirror and realized that this was her!
Her ears were very long and tapered off to a fine point 5 inches from where they started. Her eyes were still blue though not the greyish blue she was used too. More of a aquatic color with golden flecks around her pupils.
As she was walking out the door of the store, her ring began to glow unknownst to her, and suddenly it shot out a beam into the door she almost stepped out of. And a shimmering blue portal appeared in it's place. Ranma deftly jumped back, rightly spooked the neo-elven maiden spat "what the heck is that" at the nearby Wizard.
The wizard looked up from his book with a ever-smoking pipe in his mouth "oh just a portal" completely non-plussed.
Ranma looked between the newly identified portal and the wizard, eye twitching she inquired "A portal to where"?
The wizard looked up at her "to faerun I imagine that's where i got the devi... I mean costume from".
"Devi-What!?!"
The wizard still muttering through his eversmoking pipe said "Actually it was for all intensive purposes a 'costume' but it was actually a 'device' that turned a humanoid into another humanoid of similar mental development. For all intensive purposes you are the equivalent of a moon elven maiden of 120 years of age. I received the device from the land of Faerun on Aber-Toril. So I am guessing that's where the portal goes."
Suffering from an information overload Ranma recovered and asked "okay why did it open up for me?"
The hook nosed old mage pulled his pipe from his mouth saying, "Destiny, I suppose?..."
In an oddly understanding look Ranma said "So I should go through the Portal?"
The Old Mage said before sending her off "Just remember to place your trust in those who harp. You may go now Miss Saotome."
As she walked towards the portal she nodded and lipped a thank you before going through the portal. She stepped into the portal and took her next step in...
