"The way she keeps walking into stationary objects with a happy little smile in place? Yeah. What's up with that?"
"Apparently she was visiting the Uzumaki household. She was defending Naruto from some Iwa ninja when she got injured. Then Naruto apparently got up, declared she was HIS, and fried them with some really powerful fire jutsu."
"Damn, that's so romantic!"
"Then when his mother got home, she fussed at him for the smell of burned assassins lingering in the house."
"Well, I can kind of see her point."
"Ain't it though?"
Hiashi considered the rumors, considered his dazed-happy daughter, and considered the potential ramifications and pitfalls involved with this matchup.
Naruto Uzumaki, the prison of the Ninetails. Who was apparently faster than a speeding lightning jutsu, more powerful than an Iwa rock golem, able to leap taller buildings than just about anyone else.
As far as political manuevers were concerned, the linkage of the Hyuga family to the son of the Hokage was a plus. The ability to make and win a bet with Death itself also spoke well of the boy. The mother's line, linked to the nobility of the now-destroyed Ushiogakure, was less advantageous but still had some value. Particularly when a search by one of the branch family members turned up that there were two minor bloodline abilities of that nobility. They had unusual longevity and special skill with fuuinjutsu.
All of that was fine.
Jinchuriki - that was a bit more dicey. They tended to meet sudden violent ends. Even more so than regular ninja.
Though, quite frankly, Hinata was so weak that she might reflect poorly on the Hyuga clan if she were out there in the spotlight with the Hokage.
So many considerations to be pondered.
