Somewhat tired from a day of travel east to Zefielia, Bone decide to stop for the night at a large roadside inn....
Bone sat alone at a table in the inn's crowded, dining area enjoying a good hearty meal--surrounded by the sounds of quiet conversation and the sounds of other people eating and drinking.
She was also keeping an eye out for any possible trouble so she could make an effort to avoid it....
A few minutes later, Bone saw a tall figure in a black, hooded cloak enter the dining area and walk over to the bar.
"Barkeep, bring me the largest mug you have of your strongest libation!" declared the voice in a strong clear feminine voice, placing several coins on the bar.
A minute later, the bartender placed a large stein of the inn's most potent intoxicating beverage in front of the person who ordered it. "Thank you...ma'am." he replied a bit fearfully, scooping up the coins and moving away from the person cautiously.
Bone noticed this--hesitating as she raised a mug of aleginger to her lips to wash down a mouthful of food she had swallowed moments earlier....
After quite some time, the tall figure emptied the stein but was obviously drunk! "Mmany thanks, dear barkeep, perhapss I will retire now to my room in this fine establisshment--OHOHOHOHOHOhic!..."
The figure's laughter piqued Bone's interest. Could it be her? she thought as she got up from her table and walked over to the bar where the figure was...
The figure turned to look at the albino swordswoman "Bone...iss that you?" asked the figure in a slurred manner.
At that, the dining area plunged into immediate silence save for the sounds of people discreetly increasing the distance between themselves and the pair at the bar....
"Naga...you have had too much to drink. Let me help you to your room." noted Bone sternly.
The pair trundled off to Naga's room in another area of the inn....
Bone and Naga sat on the bed in Naga's room in the midst of a conversation....
"What a coincidence for us to mmeet at this inn here! Mmy how you've grown, Bone. Gourrry has told me about you--you've made quite a name for yoursself in this realm." admired Naga approvingly.
"As have you, Naga." replied Bone. "Father told me your distinctive laugh was always an effective way to introduce yourself to others."
"Sso how is Gourry these dayss?" asked the beautiful middle-aged sorceress.
"Father died four years ago" stated Bone simply.
Naga paused silently out of respect. "Ssorry to hear that--doubly so since today is the anniverssary date of your mother's death....Lianna, I have ssomething for you." Naga reached behind her neck to undo the necklace she was wearing. She pulled it out and held it up for Bone to see it. "I found these two silver ringss some 20 years ago while Lina and I were looting some old ruinss on one of our adventures. To this day, I cannot translate what's inscribed on them but maybe you might find someone who can. Since the rings *may* be curssed, I used a strip of leather to make a necklace out of them that you can wear wherever you go."
Bone took the necklace from Naga, secured it around her neck, hid it under her tunic, and stood up. "Thank you, Naga.".
"You may call me Gracia, Lianna...as a way for me to honor the memory of your parents." replied the sorceress solemnly, a tear of grief trickling down one cheek.
Lianna paused to bend down and clasp Gracia's hands with her own. "Thank you, Gracia". repeated the young swordswoman thoughtfully, looking at the other woman in a serious, yet appreciative manner. The moment past, Lianna let go of Gracia, turned, and departed Gracia's room....
