DragonSenshi: Grabbing Trouble [Episode 240590]

by Kender

It was a simple plan by what Genma could estimate. All that he had to do was to catch those annoying creatures, and he'd be able to get things back on track. If nothing else, he'd be able to get his son to start on that overly delayed training journey. Though he did hope that he would be to make some sort of profit off of getting rid of them, he just wanted the things out of his hair... so to speak.

That was why he was in a bush as he went to watch his son scamper with those annoying beasts. Every time that they saw him, they got grouchy, so he just had to keep out of sight. Considering his skill as a martial artist, he could easily hide from almost anyone, especially if the searchers were a pair of dumb animals. As they came closer, he was let his grip tighten on his sack, and tensed in readiness for his surprise leap.

What he hadn't taken into account was that the beings that he was dealing with were inherently telepathic. Speaking mind to mind was how the dragons communicated, and so they were always sensing thoughts as a human would sounds. So, they were able to immediately detect a familiar, if disagreeable, mind nearby, and instinctively reacted.

As such, they were already moving away as Genma went to jump out at them. Both dragons went into defensive stances, wondering just what was going on with the big idiot that was their friend's father. For his part, Genma was attempting to recover as he found that he caught nothing but air. They went to face each other, preparing to move within a moment's notice.

Unfortunately, something else that Genma hadn't realized that his son wasn't just some sort of empty vessel. All that he had thought was that the boy would go on the training journey, take in all the lessons that he would teach, and become the method that would take the school just in the way that the elder Saotome male had always thought it should go. Then he could go into a quiet retirement, and enjoy the opportunity to show off all that he had done.

Instead, his son was currently immediately jerking over to stare at what was going on. Obviously, there was an attack against his friends, which automatically distressed him. There was an immediate concern over their safety, and he had the familiar fear of something hurting them. However, at the same time, that same terror also provided something new. His buddies were being assaulted, and in his young mind, that brought out a simple emotion.

He was angry, and without the control and maturity that came with age, there were no controls on his reaction.

Due to that, he wasn't about to stop himself or his thoughts. Even conscious thoughts were beyond him, as could only see the fact that the two dragons were under attack. All that he wanted to do was to protect his pals and beat up the big guy who had gone and tried to attack them. For him, they had to be saved, and it had to happen right now.

Not being aware of what his situation truly was, Genma went to charge forward, sliding his feet so that he could make a quick tackle... only to be knocked over onto his back. While bright lights burst behind his eyes as his head impacted the ground, he had the air knocked out of him in a way that was not explained by the fall. Rather, it had more to do with the sudden crush of weight that landed upon his front.

With confusion running rampant in his mind, the Saotome patriarch blinked his eyes to look up... to see an elongated muzzle with a large amount of teeth only a few centimeters from his nose.

So, you are why I was Called, growled a feminine voice as a huff of hot air hit him from:
