Naruto went over to his side of the practice circle, and settled into a stance.
Kakashi's visible eye narrowed slightly. It was Naruto's usual stance, except he'd tightened it up. The sloppiness wasn't there. In fact, from the tightening of certain muscle groups, visible as they bunched up and stretched his clothing, Naruto was flexing and shifting as he held that stance. Stretching out without being obvious about it.
Now that he was looking at Naruto as a potential opponent, he was noticing more changes from this morning. Not only the lack of noise, but that Naruto was perceptibly more muscular and solid.
Well, this should be interesting. "Begin," said Kakashi, watching carefully.
Naruto charged forward. Speed was mostly unchanged, but the ground practically exploded under Naruto's feet as he hurled himself forward. So a little bit faster but apparently a lot heavier.
Kakashi ducked and moved around the attacks. When Naruto struck the ground after having missed him, the ground exploded. Okay, mental note. Do NOT block Naruto's attacks - avoid. May have to get him some training with Gai. No, on second thought, two people with "fires of youth" is enough for one village.
Naruto leapt, a foot arcing out in a savage kick.
Kakashi did a quick replacement technique with a log.
The log expired. It ceased to be a log. The chunk of wood that was left slammed into a tree which made several alarming cracking noises and seemed to tilt to the side a few degrees.
"We're just sparring Naruto," pointed out Kakashi, who'd ducked behind a tree. "If you spar with Sasuke or Sakura like that, you might hurt them."
"Aw, I knew you'd avoid it, Kakashi-sensei," said Naruto. "Though I think I got to get used to being this strong."
Sasuke had started out bored. Naruto had a kekkei genkai. Big deal. He'd actually been grateful of Sakura breaking her hand against Naruto's head, as she'd put aside the fangirl-mask and revealed something of the real girl underneath it. Fangirls were so troublesome, and he was only interested in strong girls when it came to that anyway. Eventually he'd need to find a strong girl (or several - there WAS that Clan Preservation Clause after all) in order to renew his clan.
Naruto was the class clown, dead last, weakest and loudest ninja of this year. That he was now the one with the most physical strength was becoming apparent.
Naruto as not the anchor that dragged the team down - a new thought but one that would be most welcome.
Naruto walked away from the training ground, mostly satisfied.
Once away from the rest of his group, Naruto sped up. Eventually he found the girl he was looking for and decided to see what he could do about:
