Ranma and Hakufu were walking home from Nanyo and the various fights that he had with the Big Four. Ranma was quietly thinking about the so-called Imperial Order Ryomou Shimei claimed that came from Enjyutsu. Ranma shook his head thinking about the fight his cousin was nearly suckered into. He was decoyed and barely made it to save Hakufu from a very painful defeat if not death.
Ranma eyed his cousin who was still angry with him for denying her a fight. He shook his head again thinking that he had his hands full keeping her out of trouble not because of fate but because she was family.
"Still angry with me Hakufu?" Ranma asked quietly.
"Yeah. I mean How could you do that to me since I need to get stronger? How can I get stronger if I don't fight?" Hakufu whined.
"That wasn't a simple fight, Hakufu, that was a death match. Somebody wanted you dead." Ranma gave his cousin a look that silenced her protests. "If you are dead you can't get stronger."
Hakufu was still looking angry. Ranma sighed.
"I can understand you wanting to get stronger, Hakufu but you can't just leap into a fight here. I'm amazed that Aunt Goei sent you here without talking more about what is going here." Ranma said. "That girl that you were going to fight is one of the strongest at Nanyo and she was sent to kill you. No joke, cousin."
"But if you beat her I can beat her easily since I was stronger than you years ago." Hakufu protested.
Ranma snorted.
"That was years ago, Hakufu and things change over time. Right now I am stronger than you." Ranma saw his cousin frown and start to talk. "And I was holding back a lot when I took the girl down, Hakufu."
Hakufu remained silent as the two cousins walked home.
"Just because I don't fight often doesn't mean I'm weak." Ranma smiled at his cousin. Ranma remembered a manga from his old world. "You have to see underneath the underneath if you want to fight to live and get stronger."
