"Uhm, I'm right here," said an empty space on one bed.
"Where?" asked the Hokage, looking at where a sheet had moved by itself.
Slowly she faded back into visibility, with a sheet held up for modesty. Which proved she had noticed that her clothes turned visible layer by layer.
"A stealth jutsu?" asked the Hokage, thinking THAT could prove very handy.
"She also generates some invisible bubble of some sort," said one of the doctors.
"Can you demonstrate?" asked the Hokage.
Hinata looked very uncertain, but closed her eyes and frowned in concentration.
A shimmering field flickered off and on several times before apparently solidifying. When solid, the shimmering vanished and it was indeed invisible to normal vision.
Hiruzen Sarutobi reached out and touched the field. It had a small amount of give before it turned completely rigid and felt somewhat slick besides.
"Very good," said the Hokage to encourage the uncertain-looking girl. "This will all be tested later."
Hinata nodded, still looking very uncertain about the whole thing.
Danzo sighed as he looked over the reports.
He could get Manabu Akado with a little work. The problem was that the power he possessed - an ability to control and manipulate paper and seal magic - wasn't as impressive as the others. Sure he could throw paper out and form it into shields or swords, and certainly being able to make a temporary messenger bird with a few folds of a sheet of paper was handy. Compared to being able to run a patrol of the border of the Fire Country in an hour?
Ayame of Ichiraku's did NOT want to be a ninja. She would help in village defense, that was as far as she was willing to negotiate - but did not desire to experience the ninja lifestyle.
Iruka Umino would make an excellent pawn to throw up against Mist and any other complications near the water. Except that he was perfectly content as a school teacher. What kind of life was THAT for a ninja?
Hinata Hyuga was already a member of a prestigious clan. Which wouldn't help her except that she was of the main branch. That made touching her a bit more tricky. There was also her apparent ineptitude to consider, even with her newfound abilities.
Konohamaru Sarutobi was definitely outside his reach. For now. His ability to stretch and shift his body had a number of uses in a variety of situations.
Naruto Uzumaki, the container of the Ninetails. He'd been affected too, but wasn't listed among these "Seven Soldiers" for some reason. Why?
And these code names? Really, who came up with them? Rock Lee, the Green Flash. Okay, maybe because he became a green blur as he ran at his incredible speed, leaving a streak of color behind him as he went. Ayame of Ichiraku's codename of 'Magneta'?
