In the lull between formalities Tenchi extracted himself from the living room and escaped to join his grandfather on the porch. As he and the green haired woman laughed at some joke out of ear shot he felt something. Tilting his head to the side he could almost feel...
Sakura proclaimed as she stepped out of the portal, “Where is she!”
Tenchi wasn't sure just who was the bigger threat. The girl's wings fluttered behind her giving her an air of irritation similar to Ryoko when something wasn't going her way, the large barefoot man in the tattered gi carried himself not to differently from his grandfather or the oni in the business suit. Why was the oni the least of his problems he wondered.
The oni calmly replied, “You highness, a proper level of decorum must be maintained.”
Kashuhito looked at Setsuna and joked, “I wonder if they are with the bride or the bride.”
She giggled a bit at the silly comment, “Definitely the bride, the wings do give it away.”
He slipped his glasses back on as he set down the sake dish, “Ah, silly me.” He raised his voice a bit, “Ryu, what brings you back to this humble shrine!”
The Hadou-fighter looked at the older man and seemingly younger woman dressed up in formal attire. He glared a bit at the old man as he caught onto the leer he was giving Sakura now that he had his glasses on. He gave the old man an irritated look, “I'm here to attend a wedding.”
Setsuna's grin turned into full blown laughter as she heard the comment. Her head tilted back as she finished off the last of her wine, “Your in luck we'll be having one of those in just a few days.”
The Masakai grandfather sat up a bit the mischievous look in his eye, “I'll get my robes and prepare the shrine. Setsuna perhaps you can find the bride?”
“Morrigan!” The senshi of time didn't even bother to get up as she shouted.
Morrigan stepped outside of the house responding to the tipsy voice, “What is it old woman!”
She smiled and pointed, “Your bride has arrived.”
For a moment the succubus let her eye linger on Ryu. Sakura only needed a moment to close the distance and land a vicious right cross on Morrigan's jaw. Formal attire was quickly discarded for her purple and black leotard as she rolled with the punch. An unintelligible battle cry issued forth from the younger fighter as she vented her fury on the black wing.
Morrigan rolled with the first shot quickly bringing her self into a defensive position. Her wing curved around as a guard to absorb the hurricane kick that followed. The elder succubi leapt back trying to put some distance between herself and the hadou fighter. Sakura knew her strengths and letting Morrigan get any distance at all would end their confrontation. She moved for the leg sweep but found her low kick passing through air.
The elder succubus taunted as she flew up and back a bit. Despite her escape she stayed close, “Good to see you've been practicing and staying well fed.”
Sakura hurled her self up at the darkstalker. Motes of light flickered around her fist as she pushed off the ground. Her legs uncoiled like a spring and her wings trusted in tandem.
Ryu nodded in appreciation as Sakura's Shou'ou ken slammed into the aerial succubus. He watched carefully as she lingered in the air rather than fall back to the ground. The neo-succubus hesitated as her momentum bled away into Morrigan's guard. All her human training and instinct told her to ready herself for the fall while her succubus body kept her in the air. The green haired fighter slid around Sakura. The momentary distraction all she needed to flow around the young street fighter's guard, “Very good.” She continued to purr out as she turned her to face Ryu, “Did you manage to get some personal instruction out of the wandering master?”
Sakura struggled impotently as she quickly found the physics of escaping a mid air hold quite different from one on the ground. She hissed back at her sister half in embarrassment half in irritation, “NO!”
“Pity.” Morrigan pouted a bit as she looked down at the well toned wanderer. Angry energies coalesced around Sakura's finger tips as Morrigan tried to draw her next move out, “He could really...”
“Enough!” Ryu shouted from the ground. His voice drew the attention of both succubi, “This isn't the time Morrigan.”
The two eased down to the ground and Morrigan let Sakura out of her hold. Morrigan gave the older fighter a hungry look but his eyes turned to the younger, “I though you had that under control.”
The fuku clad fighter took a breath and flippantly replied, “I'm working on it.”
As the conversation continued Kiyone came out of the home. She looked at the three newcomers and her bride to eyeing up the man in the tattered gi. Her mouth opened and closed as she refused to verbalize the question on her lips. Instead she simply repeated in her head, 'Different cultures different social norms.' The moto from the alien interactions seemed oddly irrelevant for some reason then she remembered that it was supposed to be or omiai.
Kiyone felt a gentle hand tug on her dress, “You should just watch the next bit.”
“ Huh...” Kiyone looked down at the green haired violet eyed woman. Seeing the woman from Pluto she paused, “What are you talking about?”
“ Sit and observe for a moment.” Setsuna encouraged as she listened to the heated conversation taking place just a few yards away. Kiyone sat down and asked, “Who is the one in the white?”
“ Sakura Kasugano one of Morrigan's new sisters.” Setsuna stated in almost a whisper.
Looking over the girl for a moment Kiyone shook her head, “She seems a bit young.”
Setsuna smirked, “Morrigan is just as alien to human culture as you are in some ways.”
“ Kiyone!” A bubbly voice came from the house as the door slid open again, “You've got to meet Seras.”
The blond paused and corrected her self, “Well I know you met her but that was in that stuffy ceremony.”
Looking at the two blonds for a moment Kiyone gave the British girl a nod, “You said you are a police officer.”
“ Yes!” Seras cheerfully replied, “I am.”
Kiyone politely asked as she tried to pay attention to Morrigan and her conversation, “Oh, what section are you with.”
“ Division 11, special response team.” Seras looked away for a moment, “I'm on paid leave until they sort out what happened in Cheddar.”
“ Kiyone and I are a special response team too!” Mihoshi proudly proclaimed, “Special assignment to this sector!”
Kiyone let out a sigh, “We got promoted up and out of the way.”
The comment registered with Seras but she just took it in stride, “Well perhaps something good will come of it and you'll meet your first spouse.”
“Shh...” The drunken guardian of time hushed, “Watch the brides!”
“You don't just change a girl's species and get them pregnant without telling them!” Sakura shouted as she poked Morrigan again.
The succubus tilted her head to the side, “What did you think was going to happen. You do know how most species reproduce don't you?”
“Arrg!” The young street fighter stomped around. She took a breath and looked at Ryu. She hissed back, “Is motherhood one of the light responsibilities for the next few hundred years?”
An utterly confused look crossed Morrigan's face, “Uh...” Morrigan wanted to repopulate the house but that would be a lot of children, “Of course not. Maybe the next ten to twenty years tops.”
Sakura's voice wavered as she shouted, “How am I supposed to take care of a child! I have no home, no job! I'd have to move back in with my parents! Who...”
Morrigan's voice cut through the panic. Her normally bored yet flirtatious voice took on an unusual clarity, “I will take care of you and your child. You will always have a place in my home. We will make sure our daughter is loved and nurtured.”
She really wasn't sure where the last bit came from. Too many boring afternoons perched upon her throne watching television must have been to blame. As she mused Sakura's panic ebbed. Rational thought crept back into her mind. The panic of being a single unwed mother retreated as she recovered her sense of self. Her eyes settled into an irritated glare.
