"Actually, that deals with interdimensional aperatures. It's easiest to open one in an area that is either a natural border, or is neither one thing or another. One of the reasons that swamps are often haunted - it's neither truly land nor water. Same with spaces under beds, closets, and the like. The fabric of the world is a little thinner there, that's all."
If Kakashi was a little unnerved by the statue moving and speaking with him, he didn't show it. "Is this a trap?"
"No if you mean that this was meant to harm you and yours at all. Yes, if what you're asking is regarding the storm forcing you to take shelter here was my doing."
"No harm? Sakura might dispute that," said Kakashi, moving his forehead protector to reveal his Sharingan.
"No lasting harm then. More... an opportunity."
"'Opportunity'?" asked Kakashi, covering his eye again. This was not a genjutsu as near as he could tell.
"Indeed. Things as they were could end up very bad. And lacking in humorous possibilities."
"Are you saying you can predict the future?" asked Kakashi.
"Anyone not involved with events can see the way the future might develop. If you ARE involved with those events, then perspective is lost. Hence our conversation, Kakashi Hatake, son of the White Fang, and so on. Shall I tell you a secret, Kakashi?"
"What secret is that?" asked Kakashi, wondering if this were a dream. If it WAS, could his Sharingan detect it?
"Not only is Naruto the son of the Fourth Hokage, carrier of the Ninetailed Fox, but he is also the carrier of the Mandate Of The Heavens. What another world would call ta'veren - he is one around whom destiny swirls. He is the child of the toad prophesy, one who is destined to possibly save the ninja world."
"Naruto? The same boy who used to paint graffiti all over town and boast how awesome he is?" asked Kakashi.
"Yeah, pretty much."
"So what's the deal?" asked Kakashi. "Obviously you didn't stop time just to say hello, did you?"
"No. Like I said, this is an opportunity. Each of you has a chance of getting a wish out of it. Ah, one of your genin has already voiced a wish and made the payment."
"Not sold their soul?" asked Kakashi.
"Nothing like that. It was Sakura Haruno. When she asked why Sasuke didn't respond to her advances, I pointed out that not only were both of them twelve years old - but that Sasuke is focussed almost entirely on killing a certain individual and that the only kind of woman to interest him at all is a STRONG woman."
"Oh no," said Kakashi, facepalming. "She didn't."
"She did. Without hesitation, I might add."
"She made a wish before a god of pranks that she be stronger?" asked Kakashi.
"She wished that she was the strongest kunoichi in the Elemental Countries."
"Did you remove all kunoichi?" asked Kakashi, still facepalming.
"No. I uprated her strength and physical toughness levels to nearly Incredible Hulk levels. She really is the strongest kunoichi around now. Of course, her control of that strength is almost nonexistent at present. I am a god of humor after all."
"Oh crap," summed up Kakashi.
