[Episode 246350]
The Smilodon followed his mate's scent back to a large den with several other inhabitants. However, it didn't think she was ready to deal with others at the moment and she needed her rest, so the Smilodon faded back into the trees to seek other accommodations. He found it in another large den just across a chasm that appeared to be abandoned and chained shut. The chains were not a problem and he quickly gained entry. Finding a suitable room, he gently lowered his mate to the floor and once again curled around her protectively. He smiled as his mate instinctively rolled over to snuggle into his fur in her sleep.
Laying his head on his forepaws, the Smilodon decided to catch a cat nap as well. Tomorrow perhaps he would hunt the boar he'd scented in the woods earlier.
As the Smilodon slept, it lost its edge on the other fragments in its psyche. The three once again descended into a pitched battle for supremacy. Ranma's conscious personality fought even harder than before as he'd been horrified at what the Smilodon had done to that poor girl. He refused to allow it to happen again.
As the night progressed, the battle slowly reached equilibrium. As with any battle, there were casualties. The fragments were slowly paired down as they lost aspects of themselves. When the end came, it came swiftly. During the battle, the fragments had lost their opposing aspects and before they knew what was happening they merged.
The cat insisted that they collect more mates to ensure the survival of their race and Iceron's programming strongly agreed with this. Ranma was less than enthused, but he gave in with the stipulation that there would be no more raping girls to add them to the pride. The cat didn't understand the problem with this but Ranma felt strongly about it so it acquiesced.
Iceron's programming ended up making the most concessions. Unconditional loyalty to some guy named Iceron? Ranma and the cat didn't even know who that was so they for sure weren't about to give their unquestioning loyalty to him—particularly if he was the kind of guy that had to brainwash people to be loyal to him rather than earning that loyalty. Hunt down and kill all were-rats? Ranma had a big problem with this. He refused to kill indiscriminately, let alone make it his life's mission to commit genocide. They settled on disliking were-rats in general with the option to kill any who proved to deserve it. Protecting the were-cat races, Ranma could get behind, although the cat was rather indifferent unless it came down to their race.
Ranma managed to get most of his morals and ethics included, but the cat and Iceron's programming insisted on a number of things. First and foremost was that Ranma stop being a tool, manipulated by what others defined as honor, and exploited because of it. They also demanded for reasons of survival that Ranma quit being so forgiving to those that betrayed him time and time again. Ranma was reluctant to agree to this since just about everyone he knew was on that list. Not even Kasumi was spared since she had taken great enjoyment piling kittens on top of his after she learned of the Nekoken. The other thing they insisted on was that people attacking with no warning while screaming death threats were going to receive a much more violent reception than they were likely expecting.
In the end, Ranma's core personality gained an intolerance for aggression against him and attempts to manipulate him. Survival became a much stronger drive and his conscience became a bit more draconian. From the cat he gained the urge to collect as many strong mates as possible while Iceron's programming gave him the knowledge to use his new abilities, information on the other were-races, and an extreme distaste for were-rats. He also received a substantial tune-up of his mental process courtesy of the transformation.
As the new Ranma slept, his body shifted to the hybrid form and he rolled over onto his back. The girl sleeping against him noticed the loss of warmth in her sleep and unconsciously sought it out. She ended up with her head pillowed on his shoulder with an arm thrown across his chest and a leg thrown over his waist. The pair slept on unknowing of the consequences they would face having spent the night in the old Annex together, however, this was probably for the best given the circumstances.
The activation of the Orb of Felbast was felt across many planes.
Being the closest in proximity, Gothwrain felt it first and quickly decided an extended vacation in, say, the undead realm seemed like an attractive idea. He vanished, leaving behind his three panicking subordinates as they ran around his office in circles screaming in terror while waving their arms in the air and accomplishing exactly nothing.
Several individuals on Jade received visions of the new were-cat as did one Theodore Diggers residing with his family in a suburb of Atlanta, Georgia called Decatur.
The event also threw up flags in the monitoring center of the multiplanar organization known as the TSAB. Mission orders were cut to investigate and a pair of sixteen year old combat mages named Nanoha Takamichi and Fate Testarossa where selected as the investigating officers. This decision would soon be debated for decades to come as to whether it qualified as a brilliant coup or an unmitigated disaster.
Meanwhile, at the Hinata Inn-cum-girls dorm, the residents were becoming concerned for their missing friend. Motoko hadn't shown up for dinner, nor had she returned before dark. The last anyone had heard from her was that she was going out into the woods to do some training. Fears that she may have gotten injured and might need help had spawned the current discussion of sending out a search party. The trouble was, nobody had a specific idea where she might be and it would be easy to miss her or become lost themselves in the dark.
Eventually, Keitaro was dispatched to go look for the missing swordswoman as he was deemed 'expendable'. However, Naru opted to accompany him...to prevent him from doing something perverted to a weakened Motoko...really...honest!
Predictably the couple quickly found themselves completely lost, ending up spending the night in a cave they stumbled across, huddled together for warmth...really...honest! It wasn't until they emerged in the light of the morning that they discovered Motoko's shredded gi, hakama, and panties in a clearing a couple dozen yards from the cave. Returning to the inn with this evidence, the panic really began to set in and all the residents took to combing the woods for some sign of their friend.
Ranma awoke to a wonderful warm wet feeling emanating from his crotch and a slight weight on his chest. Cracking his eyes open, he was stunned to see the girl from yesterday straddling him and impaling herself enthusiastically on his manhood while bracing her hands on his chest. He reached up and wrapped his hands completely around her slim waist, halting her bouncing.
"What are you doing?" he asked curiously. "Aren't you sore from yesterday?"
"What does it look like?" the girl smirked. "I'm raping you back." She paused in thought before continuing, "And now that you mention it, yes, I was a little sore at first, but it went away once I got you inside me."
Ranma grimaced in shame at the reminder of what the Smilodon had done to the poor girl.
"Look, I'm really sorry about yesterday. I wasn't in control of myself," he said.
"I don't care about that," she replied. "Now, less talk and more action, cat-boy." Her statement was accompanied by a hard squeeze of her internal muscles. Ranma stared at her in surprise for several moments and then shrugged.
"As Mi'lady wishes," he said, sitting up and shifting his grip to her firm sexy ass. She circled her arms over his shoulders and resumed her movements. "My name is Ranma, by the way."
"Motoko," she replied between pants.
Some time later, Motoko lay on Ranma's chest enjoying the afterglow of her many climaxes when Ranma decided it was time for talking.
"So...um...not that I'm complaining, but after what the cat did yesterday, I wouldn't have thought you'd be interested in more sex," Ranma queried.
"You would think that, yet when I woke up I was so aroused I couldn't see straight," she explained. "I just had to have more. Although I am curious as to what sort of demon you are."
"Demon?" Ranma squawked indignantly. "I'm not a demon. I'm a lycanthrope, a were-smilodon to be exact."
"A were-smilodon?"
"A Saber-tooth-Were-Tiger."
"Oh," Motoko replied. "The way you mentioned what the 'cat' did to me, you talked like there was a separate entity inside you. Does that happen every time you're in full cat form?"
"No, you see, it happened like this..." Ranma began to explain how he became a lycanthrope and about the Nekoken and how the various aspects inside his head were fighting for control. "So you see, I'm the very first of our kind and you are now the Matriarch of the were-smilodon race."
"What?" Motoko asked in a flat tone, picking her head up to stare at him.
"I'm pretty certain that you're pregnant with our kittens," Ranma informed her. "That means on the next full moon you will also transform into a were-smilodon like me. I'm really sorry that this has been forced on you, but I promise to take good care of you."
Ranma watched a number of expressions travel across Motoko's face before she finally sighed and put her head back down on Ranma's chest.
"You're not gonna try to kill yourself again are you?" Ranma asked, concerned.
"No," Motoko said softly. "Kami, I can't even be mad at you. I-I think I'm in l-love with you."
Ranma blinked and picked his head up to stare at her in surprise. He was equally surprised to discover he had strong feelings for her as well.
"I think I f-feel the s-same way about you," he admitted.
The pair laid there silently for several more minutes examining their feelings before Motoko broke the silence.
"Will it hurt—the transformation?" she asked.
"I think the first time is supposed to be pretty painful, but after that you don't feel it," Ranma answered.
"I see." A few minutes later Motoko spoke up again. "We do have a bit of a problem."
"What's that?" Ranma asked.
"We have no clothing," Motoko observed. "How am I going to get back home without giving everyone a free show?"
"Hmm..." Ranma mused and then shifted to full human form causing Motoko to squawk in surprise and sit up.
"C-cute..." Motoko murmured with a blush as Ranma got up.
"I was afraid of that," he sighed after checking himself out. His human form was now about six feet tall and considerably bulkier than he had been. His new body made Ryoga look like a panty-waist. There was no way his old clothing was going to fit. "On the plus side, it solves your problem."
"What were you afraid of and how does it solve my problem?" Motoko asked curiously, her eyes still raking Ranma's masculine form. Ranma answered her question by pulling a red silk Wu Shu shirt and a pair of black Wu Shu pants out of weapons space, handing them to Motoko.
"Those should fit you. I always carry around a spare set just in case," he explained. "As for me, I think I'm going to need a whole new wardrobe. I could go cat, but I don't want to start a public panic."
"I'm sure we can find you something back at the dorm," Motoko said pensively before an evil grin spread across her face. "I have an idea. This will be fun."
Keitaro froze and stared before grabbing Naru by the arm and pointing at the bizarre sight that had just emerged from the trees. Naru's eyes nearly popped out of her head as she saw their missing friend approaching astride the biggest hunting cat she had ever laid eyes on. The huge pitch black beast was the size of a small car. It stood about four feet tall at the shoulder and had a set of the biggest fangs and bluest eyes she had ever seen. It was a terrifying sight, yet Motoko was perched regally on the beast's back, riding it as if it were nothing more than an ordinary horse.
"M-Motoko?" Naru stammered, only resisting the urgent need to flee that was clawing at her brain because Motoko seemed unconcerned as she was perched on her mount. "W-we though something t-terrible had happened to you."
"I-is it safe?" Keitaro asked.
"So did I," Motoko giggled, "but it turned out that something wonderful happened instead. You don't need to worry about this big guy. He's my good kitty, aren't you, big guy?" Motoko gave the giant cat a scratch behind the ears and leaned down to hug its neck. The cat responded by purring cheerfully—a sound which made Keitaro and Naru go weak in the knees as the sound made the very ground vibrate beneath their feet. "I'm going back to the dorm. I really need a bath. Would you like a ride?"
"Um...n-no that's quite alright," Naru stammered.
"W-we'll be fine walking," Keitaro added.
"Well, if you're sure," Motoko laughed. "Let's go then. Kitty-up!" she commanded patting the cat on the rear.
The cat looked back over its shoulder at her and gave her a look that seemed to say, "Kitty-up? Really?" It rolled its eyes and began walking down the trail with a slow graceful motion that only cats can achieve.
"Keitaro, did Motoko seem different to you?" Naru asked as the followed the cat-mounted girl...from a couple dozen meters back.
"Yeah, now that you mention it," Keitaro agreed. "She seemed a lot more laid back and relaxed than normal. She's usually pretty uptight."
