Naruto had spread out, as part of the search orders for finding the meteor, when he discovered the pod. The pod which had opened when he reached out for it, and the object jumped out and placed itself on his left arm. Some kind of gauntlet or wrist mounted guard stuck on his arm.
'What the...' was the beginning of the thought Naruto was thinking as he tried to remove the device. Pulling at it with his other hand didn't work, when that didn't work he tried to chew off the device with his teeth. It didn't work either, as he looked closer to the device.
There was a dial or face plate, what looked like buttons and some other stuff. He pushed the button, and the face plate popped up and showed off some kind of image of a monster.
'If I twist this face, it turns into different kinds of monsters. Goes through a lot of them before it comes back with the one it started with. I wonder what happens if I push the face plate back into it's place on the device...' thought Naruto as his hand was on the top of the lifted plate.
He was started by his name being called out by Sakura, which caused him to push down on the device and there was a green flash...
Sakura was coming in with Sasuke and Kakashi-sensei, as they looked for Naruto, who seemed to have gotten to the centre as Sasuke and Kakashi used jutsu to put out the fires the meteor had created when it struck trees while on fire.
As they came to the crater and noticed Naruto wasn't there, instead it was some kind of monster. It looked like...
