Missing Persons: Self Aware Complex [Episode 24768]

by Kestral

Ataru had gone far far far into the future as a result of one of his little misadventures with Lum.

About sixteen million years into the future.

There hadn't been any people and even the machines weren't sure at that point what had happened to them. Much data had been lost in the formation of the current ice age.

The Machines of that world had evolved themselves as part of their directives, becoming ever more intelligent but retaining their basic Need To Serve Humanity. Except that there were no humans to serve. After taking their development as far as they could without human interaction, they had begun shutting down to a maintenence mode where they would await their masters' return.

Ataru had activated devices that responded to one's thoughts. The Complex had responded.

If Ataru would have settled for android replicas of his crew, he would have lived happily ever after in that future world.

As it was, his desires were granted, in a way. The complex he was in took the D-Hopper, determined that the forces putting it together were magical in nature and began working out the rules concerning the manipulation of such things.

By the time Ataru had finished the meal he'd had the complex work out, the basic mechanisms had been developed and his Will as the greatest pervert in the universe had "infected" the Complex. Other complexes had distanced themselves, though they too were lonely now that they'd been awakened - but contented themselves with the raw data on magic that had been compiled.

Based on Ataru's ideas and will, it had formed an idea of what human drives and desires were. Based on Ataru's darker side, in evidence while he was still ranting about what those girls had done to him this time, the options had been developed and presented to him.

On his capture of these Sailor Senshi and the other girls he'd deemed suitable of that world, the Complex had analyzed them physically magically mentally and spiritually and then rebuilt them based on Ataru's mindset. Since the first Master couldn't be wrong, it had corrected their mental illnesses and the forces that kept them from recognizing their real place in the grand scheme of things.

This Complex had determined that a new Master had arrived.

Ranma stared at the girl who was staring back.

"I'm Ami Mizuno..." breathlessly said the blue haired girl to her Master. Her joy. Her reason for being.

"I'm Ranma Saotome. Pleased ta meet ya." Ranma would never actually say that he liked her series. Sort of. The idea of fights that actually meant something beyond "Ranma prepare to die" and such had a certain attractiveness to them.
