"I come all this way and I get a team of little girls and a brat," Tazuna said.
"Hey, old man," Naruto said. "We're not exactly second stringers."
"Naruto," Kurenai said. "I think that attitude is what got you in trouble on your combat assessment. Or was it part of your plan not to notice one of your opponents taking herself out of the area of your trap?"
"We're still not weak," he protested.
Hinata laughed momentarily and looked toward Ino, who was still under her face concealing hood.
"Naruto can be a bit brusque," Kurenai told their client. "But he's right. You aren't going to find ninja quite like these three anywhere in the world."
"Just seems to me that I should have been expecting somebody older," the old man said. "Are ninja really as young as you lot?"
"What, like twelve is some sort of little kid?" Ino demanded. "Look, you've got a Hyuga and a Yamanaka, so quit complaining!"
"Is that supposed to mean anything to me?" Tazuna asked.
"Ehh?" Naruto said as they walked along the path. "Somebody spilled a lot of water here, because it's not raining."
Kurenai winced and looked toward the puddles of water than Naruto had noticed. She'd been hoping for the genin to get quietly past those. As predicted, as soon as the puddles were noticed, figures started rising out of them.
[Einrichten. Ritter Jacke. Jäger Form]
Hinata's gladius called out as she telepathically ordered it to start her transformation.
Behind her, Naruto reached for his own device around his neck and tossed it up. His own transformation went over without the taciturn Mjolnir choosing to make a comment.
Two men in overly frightening armor appeared out of the puddles and lashed out with a pair of thick metal gauntlets linked by a long metal chain imbedded with razor sharp shurikens.
Behind Naruto and Hinata, Ino immediately moved in front of Tazuna in order to protect him, wondering why Naruto was suddenly looking so relaxed while even Kurenai simply stood aside, watching carefully.
"Eisenfeld!" Hinata called out as that lightly crackling field of electrical energy cascaded out from her hand.
The gauntlets couldn't be stopped completely the way a projectile could. Not at the level Hinata was willing to use it, but it hardly mattered. It slowed down her enemy and unbalanced them significantly as she took a breath and moved in closer.
"Jacobi's Leiter!" she shouted as she swung her sword down into their connecting chain.
A visible cascade of purple lightning coruscated down the chains in either direction into the enemy ninja on either side of her, sending them into spasms and seizures before they collapsed to ground.
"Good job," Kurenai said, nodding casually. But next time Naruto, make comments on observations this way since we can.
"Why the heck didn't you use that in the fight test?" Ino asked.
"It has limits," Hinata said. "It needs something to travel through. Such as water or metal. Kleinhoffen needs to have level 2 for much offensive power, but I lose defensive ability and I have sufficient attack power in this form for such opponents."
"So who are these guys?" Naruto asked. "They don't look like bandits." He looked suspiciously toward the now fairly shocked Tazuna.
"The Demon Brothers," Kurenai said joining Naruto's appraisal of Tazuna. "Crimnals of the ninja world. and they aren't exactly the sort of thing you expect on a C-mission."
