Grumbling as she began to sit up in bed, Rei rubbed her eyes. Yesterday had been so unreal, especially with being turned into a weretigress, and the rest of the Sailor Senshi becoming Lycanthrope as well. If that wasn't bad enough, when she returned to the temple, things took a slight turn for the worst.
Rei managed to change back to her human form before heading back to the temple. However, there was no way Rei was able to hide what happened to her hair. It was orange with very, very dark violet stripes. She tried to dye her hair as besy she could, yet for some reason, the dye was not adearing to her hair. Cursing her luck, she knew she'd have to live with her hair like this.
As soon as she got onto temple grounds, she was surprised when Yuuichirou axtually commented on her hair. He liked it. He said it was one of the best dye jobs he had ever seen and asked her who had done it for her. Naturally, HE thought that wasn't her natural hair. He was used to her having a full head of dark violet, almost black hair. Though Rei had to admit, she liked the attention Yuuichirou was giving her. Usually he was somewhat creeped out by her intimidating presence. Now, he couldn't help staring at her, but in a good way.
Unfortunatley, all of Yuuichirou's praising got the attention of her grandfather... Whom almost had a heart attack as soon as he saw her hair. Well, that confirmed Rei's slightly nagging suspicion that her Lycanthrope ancestry wasn't TOO far back. Her grandfather was reacting to the new her as one who had some backround knowledge would.
And there was the real kicker. He didn't just have backround knowledge on her family. He himself WAS a weretiger! His hybrid form was somewhat impressive. He stood 'tall' at 4'2" in hybrid form, and he had a thin layer of fur on his head. Of course, his fur seemed faded in color and seemed not to have too much of a healthy shine, but, he was an honest-to-goodness weretiger.
Of course, seeing THAT caused Yuuchirou to faint. Damn rock stars. They always go through weird crap, so what's wrong with them seeing a weretiger?
The knowledge Rei had gotten from her father over the course of the evening was quite useful. Apparently, her great-great-great-grandfather was part Japan's army. He had been sent on a reconnaissance mission, spying through some of China's wilderness, as to look through easier routes for Japan to march trhough... And in that wilderness he had come across an injured woman, who would later become Rei's great-great-great-grandmother. After helping the woman, Rei's great-great-great-grandfather got to know the woman further. And against the norm of Japanese society, took her on as his official 'mistress', as was common practice for soldiers and officials of Japanese government in higher position.
Long story short, Rei's great-great-great-grandparents got married after some documentation was forged to make seem as though her great-great-great-grandmother was Japanese... But, as it was known to Rei's great-great-great-grandfather, Rei's great-great-great-grandmother was a weretigress. And such a rare, and delicate beauty was something her male ancestor could not pass up.
Rei snorted. Men were pigs at times, weren't they? Oh well, at least her grandfather was now going to start training her more seriously and-
*SPLASH*
Rei blinked her eyes once, then twice. She was soaked. her pajamas were soaked. Her bed was soaked. Worse, she smelled of wet animal fur! Turning to look to teh side, Rei saw her grandfather holding an empty bucket. "GRANDPA!!!"
Grandpa Hino, who was currently in hybrid form, smiled at his granddaughter. "No time for sleeping in! You've got a lot to learn about being a weretigress!" So saying, her grandfather took his full animal form and started running. Naturally, Rei took chase, not taking note of how her already too-tight pajamas were now clinging to her like a second-skin as she ran all over the Hikawa Shrine, trying to catch her grandfather so she could dispense some justice.
Yuuichirou, who was doing chores, watched as Rei ran and 'bounced' around. He was silently crying to himself at the beautifulm, wonderous sight. He sure felt a song coming on.
