“Hey, wait!” called out Lelouch as he chased after the Knightmare Frame, which just happened to scare Arthur who began running away from the giant machine. Following closely behind the Student Council’s Vice President was the green otter mascot and a furious Shirley who wanted to dish out her anger on the person behind the otter costume.
“Was that Arthur?” asked Suzaku in a puzzled tone as he slowed down just to digest everything that had happened.
“Oh geez… now we have to change plans,” muttered Milly as she sent a signal to Rivalz to let him know that the MR1 Knightmare Frame was on its way.
By the main stage where the pizza dough had already been prepared, Rivalz began to speak over the megaphone to let the audience know what was going on after getting the signal from the Student Council President. “Yes, they’re on the route now! They’ll come after one lap…”
“… around the school!”
“One lap, hm? Route has been confirmed!” Inside the Frame, Gino checked the sequence of events that was to occur and made sure that he was properly following the designated route highlighted on the navigation display. ‘For an old Knight, this handles pretty well.’
Ah, right… since he has the tomatoes with him, they would need to be properly treated so that they would make a fine paste to go on top of the pizza dough. Flicking a switch, he had the Frame’s mechanical arms begin shaking the container.
“IT’S SHAKE TIME!!”
And that meant a whole lot of fun for the trapped C.C. and Rai who were tossed along with the tomatoes.
‘This is bad… that pizza girl will be seen on the stage! And that other student might slip away if I don’t put a stop to this…!’
While those thoughts ran through Lelouch’s head, the others who were behind him were quickly catching up. The first to pass him was Suzaku who was focused on getting Arthur and recovering Euphemia’s feather pen.
Next to pass him was Kallen in that giant otter costume. It was a testament to her physical ability with how she managed to move that quickly in such a large outfit.
Then it was the swimsuit clad Shirley (with additional attire to serve as a waitress in the swimming club’s café) who overtook him. This time, she was focused on finding out who is behind that otter mascot costume and why they ruined her chance to get a date. “Get back here and show me your face!”
By this time, all of Lelouch’s stamina had been drained and he came to a grinding halt so he could catch his breath. “This… is not… my specialty,” grunted the boy just as another little girl carrying a blue ball shaped robotic companion passed him.
“Out of shape! Out of shape!”
If looks could kill, that blue ball would have been disintegrated in a nanosecond. ‘That cursed ball…!’
Of course, his glare full of killing intent went unnoticed. Not even Milly stopped to check out on him as she kept running in that fabulous dress of hers while shouting “Charge!”
‘… okay, there’s no way I’m catching up to that Frame. But… I know what route it’s taking!’ As soon as he got his breath back, he quickly headed towards one of the towers overlooking the main stage where the pizza event was being held. If he hurried, he could make it in time.
The screeching noise from the Knightmare Frame turning caught the attention of Rivalz as he yelled into the megaphone again. “AND THERE HE IS! The Knight of Seven, Suzaku Kururugi! He’s here with the special tomatoes from Andes!”
The Frame was now heading in the direction where the pizza dough was ready, not even slowing down for a second which got Arthur to maximize his speed.
“We’re here, Suzaku! Now come! We’re waiting for…” Rivalz stopped as he saw the Knight of Seven dash out from the side to rescue the cat from being run over by the Frame. “… you?”
“We’ve switched places!”
Rivalz didn’t recognize the voice that came out from the Frame but the identity of the mystery pilot was the last thing on his mind as he got out of the way for the MR1 to make its delivery of tomatoes.
‘Wait a second… if Suzaku’s out here…’ The volunteer staff member didn’t have a chance to ponder things further as he heard a voice from above.
“Control unit, look at the roof now!”
He turned around and saw Lelouch overseeing things. “What is it, Vice-President?”
The other male waved a hand over his left eye for a brief second before speaking again. “Activate System Pattern: Rouge!”
“Understood. Activating System Pattern: Rouge,” replied the volunteer in a calm tone, now under the power of Geass. “Beginning to release the gas…”
Just as the tomatoes and the pair who were trapped in the container got dumped on to the dough, coloured smoke appeared all around the main stage, concealing the pizza dough from view. This threw the crowd into a bit of chaos and also gave Kallen the opening to flip Shirley, who had been doing a decent job pinning her down, over the hill where she would tumble safely below.
Gino laughed heartily inside the Knightmare Frame upon seeing this delightful spectacle. “Hahaha! So it’s for a surprise like this?”
“Well… that was certainly fun,” grumbled Rai as he managed to get back up on his feet, careful not to slip on any tomato sauce. Thankfully, the gas has managed to conceal both him and C.C. for now
“Rai, are you alright?” The Geass user turned around and spotted the silhouettes of Setsuna and Marie from behind the stage.
“Yeah… I’ll be fine.” He turned around to help the slightly dizzy C.C. on her feet before beginning introductions. “By the way, this is-”
“We’ll have to save a proper introduction and conversation for later. The situation’s gotten out of hand,” replied Setsuna. “We should bring her back with us to the ship.”
“Without proper security measures?” retorted Marie sharply.
“Guys, let C.C. decide!” Rai then turned to the immortal. “What do you think? They can protect you from those who would seek to take advantage of you.”
“I’ll have to pass on that,” replied the green haired woman.
“Are you sure about that? These people-” He was cut off by the immortal girl placing a finger on his lips.
“That’s very kind of you but I have someone that I have to look after. A person who might just be able to grant my wish…”
It didn’t take him long to put it together. With a contract in effect, this could complicate things. But she was still his best shot to finding where the heart of Geass lay so that Celestial Being could drive a GN beam sabre through it. He reached for his left ear and withdrew a small electronic device that had served as his communicator before handing it out to her. “Take this. That way, we can keep in touch and continue where we left off at a later time.”
She accepted it and put it away in her uniform pocket. “I wouldn’t mind talking to you again since I’m interested in hearing your story on how you got involved with Gundam. Take care, Rai.”
“Same to you.” With their farewells said, both parties slipped away, leaving only messy footprints in tomato sauce once the gas cleared.
On the other side of the school, Milly had heard some of the reports regarding the chaos that took place at the giant pizza event. Stuff such as Ms. Villetta running into a green mascot character and knocking its head off, Shirley tumbling down a hill and getting her photo taken by some fifteen year old girl with pink hair and Suzaku deciding to stay out of things by hanging out with Arthur in a tree.
“Still… things turned out pretty interesting! Ah, well…!”
As far as she was concerned, it was another successful festival at Ashford Academy.
