[Episode 25011] [Episode 25011]The spellbook had contained a spell that a male and a female to have an irresistable urge to procreate at least once a day. What was even better in their opinion was that the spell was a targeted one thus ruling out something freaky happening like always and the spell hitting the wrong people.
Of course even if everything had gone perfectly it probably wouldn't have ended up how they had envisioned due to the origins of the spell.. but at worst would have probably left anyone named Ranma with anyone named Akane.
Everything hadn't gone perfectly however. Two very major blunders were made by the two spellcasting father's in their attempt at following the spell's directions.
The first mistake was that when Genma and Soun had cast the spell they'd targeted 'Saotome' and 'Tendo'. This might seem foolish but unfortunately the spell was created by an English wizard and every proper Japanese citizen knows how backwards those gaijin are with their first and last names in the wrong order. So instead of saying 'Ranma' and 'Akane' they had said the family names.
While that mistake was bad it wouldn't have really been too horrible.. worst case would have been Nodoka finding out how manly Soun was or the three Tendo girls making a run for the hills to avoid the effects with Genma.
The second mistake was the one that Soun and Genma would come to be horrified by upon the first emergence of the spell. The spell was designed to be cast upon targets in close proximity to the caster and was mostly used by certain unscrupulous priests to make the arranged-marriage of a beautiful young bride more receptive to the old geezers who couldn't get a wife any other way.
Soun and Genma on the other hand had been so greedy for results that they had not waited til getting home. Therefore only two people with the names of 'Tendo' and 'Saotome' were within the spell's range.
Now, luckily for anyone who'd be nauseated by the thought of those two together, the magic had been intended for impregnation not simply the act itself. Since neither man was a woman there was almost a problem.. but then the magic had encountered the other magic resonating from Genma (jusenkyo curse) and altered it to suit the purpose.
From now on cold water wouldn't remove Genma's humanity (not that someone as inhumane as him would be changed much) but instead would be like an older model Ranma-chan. Genma-chan or Genko.. has quite a ring to it..
